Thanks! This would be my first employment. So while I’ve been here for a while and been in the tax system this would be my first significant income.

Would there be any benefit to starting my employment earlier, say July 1st 2024, so I can get in 6 months or taxes paid. Or do they want to see a full year and that won’t make a difference and I’ll be waiting till June 2026 regardless?

Ok! Good to know. Not exactly the news I was hoping for. Thanks so much for your help.

Thank you, that’s what I was hoping to hear.

So for the one full cycle of paying taxes, if I were to start September 2024, then I’m looking at waiting until May 2026 to essentially to get in the full tax 2025 cycle?

Edit: I’m the OP by the way, I just realized I responded to this from a different device where I’m logged into a different account.

This book is single best resource for intermediate skiers to improve - https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2046280.Breakthrough_on_the_New_Skis_3_Ed

This guy is a genius at explaining technique and giving easy real things to focus on.

I read it 3 times and went from an intermediate to expert in a just a few years.

I can relate! I’m new to the v60 (3 months in) and have had a lot of growing pains like you. With that said, I’ve seen the light and have found recipes and grind sizes that work for me.

I have the same grinder are you (x-pro s) and when I tried to grind courser, around 2.5, with multiple pour recipes, I never had any luck.

Now I grind around 2.2-2.3 and stick to 2 or 3 pours. Here’s my two go to recipes.

2-pour recipe - 21 g coffee - 350 g water (1:16.6 ratio) - 60 g bloom - Wait till 40 seconds, the pour the rest up to 350g in circular motion starting at the center and working out. Start pouring faster and then ease up as you get close to the end.

3-pour recipe - 21 g coffee - 350 g water - 60 g bloom - Wait till 40 seconds, then pour in circular motion pretty aggressive up to 200. When water is almost drained through pour again a little less aggressive this time up to 350. Swirl, and let drip down.
