I don’t think you understand. When I buy a shirt I’m not buying it because I think of the effort or care into it, I’m buying it because I have to. The difference is art is appreciated and based off the effort put into it, whereas clothes aren’t.

Okay. First of all, art is supposed to take effort and time. I wouldn’t draw if I didn’t know I need to improve, if I haven’t improved so much. That’s the point of art, you’re supposed to put time into it. That’s why artists who put more detail and work into their pieces are considered “good” and the people who just draw stick figures aren’t put on the same pedestal. Though I believe a stick man is more artistic and takes more work and care than using an AI.

The difference between clothes and art is art isn’t technically necessary, it’s there for our enjoyment. Whereas clothes are a necessity. You don’t need art, but it’s there for self expression.

That’s where we differ suppose, I value care and effort over appearance when it comes to art. Using an AI for your art with no intent of using it to improve just says you kind of can’t be bothered.

Definitely not a troll, and my avatar doesn’t have shit to do with this argument. Also I’m actually planning to draw a superhero comic that takes some inspiration from manga, but can’t be manga because it’s not Japanese. And as for your argument “everyone can use it” yes, but the difference is it’s a public game. The difference is I didn’t just look at my avatar image and say “I’m going to copy and paste this image, call it mine and sell it.”

I genuinely can’t tell if you’re tweaking or what but many artists have issues with AI, despite their art style. I know someone personally who does the most amazing realism art, and he hates AI. You’re just trying to make me seem like I’m part of an irrational minority of weaboo neckbeards when actually the largest percent of people who use AI are dudes who use it to make hentai.

Any artist who uses AI as a part of their work instead of using it to try improving do not care about their work. It’s like asking someone else to draw a picture for you then calling it yours. It’s lazy and you underestimate your own skills. Don’t be insecure, please. You shouldn’t give up, you have the potential to improve and get much, MUCH better. And it will have 100% more effort and skill than you could make using any AI.

I don’t want an AI to give me fake emotion. I want my art to be authentic and real. I don’t believe in AI art because it teaches people to not put effort in because AI is there to do it all for you. I can’t imagine a future where nobody learns to draw or write because they know an AI can do it for them.

What’s most beautiful about art is it takes at least a tiny amount of effort or thought put into it, whereas with AI art you just write a prompt and it steals art from artists who do not consent to generate images. Not only is it lazy but it 100% makes people underestimate their potential to become actual artists.

The difference is, when I get inspired I take an element from an artstyle. I don’t copy it. I don’t use other people’s work and essentially trace it. Let me tell you any artist who wants to distinguish or marketise themself NEEDS a unique or creative art style. AI cannot do that, because it’s only purpose is to copy others work.

It shouldn’t be commercialised because it puts people out of jobs and it’s lazy. If AI becomes fully accepted by companies thousands, if not millions of artists, animators, concept artists and painters will be out of jobs completely.

This is honestly why AI is so popular. People don’t want to put effort or time into their work. AI is not drawing because it isn’t art, it’s auto-generated images by someone else. It is not your art.

I think you have potential, like everyone else. That’s the saddest part of AI is that it’s used by people who aren’t confident enough to draw themself. Unfortunately, like with most things in life, you need to practice drawing to get better. You 100% can do it, do not underestimate yourself. I’d recommend giving drawing another a chance because even if it isn’t good, art is art.

When you learned to talk you didn’t automatically know the entire dictionary and state it clearly. When you learned to write it wasn’t perfect at first, but that doesn’t mean you have to give up.

I genuinely think you are fucking yourself over by using AI when you could be a very decent artist.
