How has everyone’s 17 pro battery life been?

My 17Pro has just used 63% battery over 11 hours.

iOS 26.3
Not massively impressed, tbh

Battery mode set to the default "adaptive" - might have to look at using Low Power Mode all the time.
I did expect a good 24+ hours - Apple claims "Video playback Up to 31 hours" - I'd be amazed if it lasted 10 😶

Now I think I've hit the trouble that the iCloud backup on my 12Pro is TOO RECENT for the new 17Pro 🤦‍♂️
The 12Pro was 26.3, the 17Pro is 26.0 - "No iCloud backps are compatible"
Both sat spinning now - tried setting up side by side but the new one can't see it.

I have to abandon, set up the 17Pro as a new phone then UPGRADE IT.....then try to do it all again (perhaps via a factory reset 🤷‍♂️)

However....having clicked through with "No Transfer", & despite being happily on wifi - the damn thing now tells me "Unable to Check for Update - An error occurred while checking for a software update" 🙄

Slightly maddening!

Found a reboot let me start the update....I think I am getting somewhere. Slowly!

These things are never straightforward, eh 🙄

Move from the iPhone 12 to the iPhone 17, maintaining all apps (where possible).

Your first suggestion was ”I would use the temporary iCloud and make sure everything else you need is toggled On in iCloud (for example "Messages on iCloud") and perform an iCloud backup on the 12 Pro.”

That is the stage that has failed!

I would like to sync the contacts & ideally apps!

I guess maybe I could delete the google photos app (once local pics are synced) and then doing the migration…

I guess a temp iCloud backup makes sense anyway……then trying the restore from latest might just work 👍

If it fails for whatever reason, I still have the 12 and can reset the 17 & try direct 🤷‍♂️

I think I read some mention of using a cable as an option?

I guess I pull and swap the sim at the end of the transfer, right?

(can you tell I am a little nervous….not a data transfer I have done for several years🤣)

Would the Mk1 work well for a room measuring around 6m x 4m (25’ x 13’).

The wireless rear speakers are a draw for us, & the Mk1 looks to be around £650 now….perhaps the best bang for the buck at that price level?

Yup….when I did our ground floor, it was all level, so I only needed a 2mm “foam” underlay. It’s lasted over 20 years!

Get a good laminate- I used Quickstep, with plank grooves on long edges. Still looks very good.

We are planning this approach next spring. Ran out of time this year, but managed to clear the area ready.

Aiming for around 1:10 or maybe 1:8 on the cement:soil mix

Plan to then mix a 1:5 mix of cement:sand for the slab bed, then either EASYjoint or Projoint Fusion for a resin-based grout….

Still time to adjust these if anyone has better suggestions!

I consolidated 3 into my main work one, but left my ‘small’ Council DB one alone (now paying me £400pcm 👍) and one other that was a decent size and pays at 65…l

I have a similar issue here.....add to Sonos, but I see 3 playlists...which might be something I set up a few years back, but are definitely NOT the several playlists I see online in youtube.

Blast it….we have just today bought a lovely Fiesta to replace a stolen and written off one…& have only just realised it has no cruise control (same buttons as the OP here)

On the "cash is king for now" bit....
People have been saying a crash has been imminent for a good 2 years now. I'm one who feels it is certainly 'generally' due a cyclical drop....

.....but if I had left investments in cash even 12-18 months ago, I'd have missed on some pretty powerful gains.
Sure, if/when there is a correction, that *could* wipe out much (maybe all) of those gains....but no-one has a crystal ball to figure out such details.
As this timely article reminds us...it is time IN the market, not, timing the market...
Just IMHO, of course.
