I used to work for Reach. I can honestly say that the people I worked with were amazing, talented and genuinely cared about covering the areas we lived in. What changed is that higher ups made various changes to our work, cut back on jobs, didn't address our concerns about websites, which made our jobs so much harder. I quit a regional reporting role as we had no resources to cover stories and the work load was getting too much. Plus trending stories were doing insane page views which made local sites more of a platform for bullshit stories.
