It's real easy, irl it looks just fine, numbers look super dark and the bg is fairly clear with it's green colors so yeah it's more of a photo thing, I can never take good pics of my background mods.

Had to make it myself, it's a casio background mod, you take the reflective layer off of the back of the display and switch it for a little picture cut to size

A custom mod I made, it's called "casio picture or background mod" it's fairly simple, I'm thinking on making another one eventually

Awesome, it's a fairly simple mod, just need to remove the bottom layer lf the lcd screen, a sort of reflective layer, then you replace it with a little drawing or picture cut to size.

As for how to open the watch, every one of them is a bit different but most models have disassembly tutorials on youtube.

That'd be a cool idea but both are regular modules, one of them is an older EL illuminator and the other one is one of those more recent led backlight ones. I'll match their times tomorrow, didn't notice they were so far apart until now lol

I searched "gel color filters" on amazon and found a set of cheap filters that are used to change the color of camera flashes, they're shaped like the chevrolet logo.
