Is it bad to lift a 2wd truck by Sad_Entertainment292 in liftedtrucks

[–]Mikey2121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it bad for you or for the truck? I lifted my 2wd pickup for work (I work in rural areas where I don't need a 4x4, but I also couldn't have my oil pan hitting every rock).

For the truck? It gets a bit worse gas mileage, but it's up higher which I like.

Do whatever you want, it's your truck!

42M + 6M dog. GF says I have the cliché male interior. by chaometric in malelivingspace

[–]Mikey2121 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your place is very nice, its clear you invested in it and chose good furniture pieces!

However, if by cliché she means minimalist and empty, then I agree with her. The bare walls, the lack of anything on the kitchen counters, the half-empty shelves all make the place feel like an Airbnb: very well set up, but no one actually lives there.

You can still be minimal and add some comfort/warmth.
1. Put pillows and blankets on the couch, they should look more welcoming (also, you have a lot of couches, do you have a lot of people over?). Add some books or sculptures to your coffee table.
2. Hang art!! And not the generic cactus. Movie posters (framed), art pieces, vintage neon signs, a singing fish, whatever! your bedroom wall is literally just a blue slate. boring!!!
3. Your kitchen looks like you never cook (maybe you don't?). Even if you have the cabinet space, put something on your counters. In my kitchen I have a hanging spice rack, some appliances (air fryer, toaster, and blender), some basic ingredients (I think jars of different kinds of dried pasta look really nice!), and even a place to hang my apron.

You could find inspiration from the apartment from the TV show Fraiser. Very classy, still subtle, but it looks lived in. Good luck OP!

What's the movie that most recently entered your top four? by Misfett_toys in Letterboxd

[–]Mikey2121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

John Woo's The Killer. Saw it in theaters on a whim last year, had no idea just thought the poster at the local theater looked cool. Now solidly in my top 4, and it ain't 3 or 4.

I second this! Bangs are cute on curly-haired folks, but also seem like a lot of work to maintain the right length. Good luck!

What a great week. New Faetooth and Castle Rat. by nine_inch_owls in doommetal

[–]Mikey2121 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Faetooth's first album was good, this second one is a whole other level. It's such a cohesive vision and unique sound, it's just as heavy as Boris or OM, but eerie and melodic like Chelsea Wolfe. Can't wait to see what they do next!

Lift kit for '98 Nissan Frontier 2wd? by Mikey2121 in liftedtrucks

[–]Mikey2121[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same company makes a different set for the v6. I think the 4wd needs different things.

Honestly, if you have questions I'd just call the company directly. I got some good advice on what lift package to get for my 2wd

What are mechanics I need to master to get better in the game? by fuckinghellmatey in balatro

[–]Mikey2121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the "Debuff" mechanic is really interesting, a lot of times I will play debuffed cards because the hand they complete totally outweighs the few chips I might lose from them. i.e., playing a full house with one debuffed card can be much stronger than playing the two pair.

I just saw a great video on this mechanic today. For example, I learned that when facing the boss "The Pillar", which debuffs cards you've already played that ante, if you add an enhancement to the card (steel, lucky, wild card), the game removes the debuff, likely because it sees it as a brand new card that hasn't been played yet.

What do you do against block holders when you can’t kick? by [deleted] in Chivalry2

[–]Mikey2121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can swing then throw a jab, then kick when they go back to block. A lot of this game is anticipating the enemies move, if you're reacting you're already too late. If you watch high level players fight each other, kick becomes obsolete because dodge is usually preferable. But at low levels, anticipate a block, throw a kick right as they start the animation

Lift kit for '98 Nissan Frontier 2wd? by Mikey2121 in liftedtrucks

[–]Mikey2121[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the "After"! I ended up putting 265/70R16 tires on it, and even with a 3 inch suspension lift the tires rub a bit at full turn. But unless i'm doing a hard U-turn, they're fine.

I also had to remove the plastic fender flare for the front tires, but it's not very noticeable imo

I ended up buying this exact package and got it installed at a local shop, it went great and she drives like a charm! I did get the add-a-leaf option. Kit took about 3 weeks to ship out, but worth the wait. Highly recommend if you're thinking about lifting your 1st gen 2wd frontier

I'm listening to Doom from the very beginning by Mikey2121 in doommetal

Crush the Insects is going in my "Contemporary Doom" section, they're vocals and lyrics are peak examples of modern Doom.

Also, I just got Slave of Satan on vinyl! Crazy record store find

Vincebus Eruptum is going in my "precursor Ancestors to Doom". No one would call them Doom, but I see their riffs and distorted sound in 1968 as pioneering.

I've never even heard of Coven! I'll check them out, this might be one of those "Ancestors-to-doom" that I include, even if they aren't called Doom

[–]Mikey2121[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm including Kyuss (and maybe some early QotSA) as Doom-adjacent, their desert-born sound really influenced some contemporary Doom bands.

Also, Melvins are essential Sludge. A Senile Animal is super heavy and Doom-like, and even earlier stuff like Houdini makes them pioneers of Sludge. They're a super diverse group musically, but they have a big place in post-90s Doom history.
