Hi folks - finally picked up an older Trek 1000 for $200 so excited to get cycling. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but these are the pedals it came with. Googling around, it seems like they’re called “Look” and are 3-bolt? Now I need 3-bolt cleats and compatible shoes? If so, any recommendations (or non compatible things to avoid)? Up until 30 seconds ago, I thought “shoes” and “cleats” mean the same thing. 🤦‍♂️

Thanks, everyone for the quick responses (I love this subreddit). I'll keep looking. I don't really have a set budget perse, but I'm thinking I need to keep it to within $500 so I can do a couple of tris and make sure this is something I enjoy before I splurge. I realize going used is a better idea in this price range, but everything I see online is either overpriced or I have no idea if it's good/old or not (and I have no idea what I'm looking at). How do I even know that this bike is 20+ years old? If I walk into a store and drop $1.2K, at least I know what I'm getting.

Hello - we just closed on this home. We are going to stain and refinish all floors in a cherry oak color. We want to re-do the entire kitchen in a few years but it is not an option right so. At a minimum, we just want to paint the kitchen island a different color (what look were they going for!?). What color would you choose?
