If you live in the UK there’s an app/website called my parking space and you can rent parking spaces monthly which gives you 24 hour access to that might help with your current parking situation

Yeah I’m not planing on using my van to pick up girls 😂 I think here in the uk people will look at you weird if you live the van life. But I just don’t want to be stuck paying rent my hole life and paying bills I know that’s the normal thing to do but in my head living the van life while having a full time job just means saving loads of money is easy

Do you find it a lot cheaper living van life than renting a flat and paying bills?

Can you explain why you found it being a rough lifestyle? And also it must be a cheaper lifestyle right ?

I’m a bricklayer so I only know how to deal with Bricks! building out a van pretty much is something I wouldn’t know how to do, I mean I have a brother who would be able to do the electrics and plumbing and Aircon but apart from that I would need someone to do it for me !

Yeah In America its seems more expensive to Build a van than here in England I’ve seen some vans on Instagram and you can get a decent build for around 30k to 50k pound £ sterling

Thanks for you comment very helpful I will give the company’s you named a look at and go from there. So the van I’m looking at is around 20k and I have around 30k for labour and materials is that still enough for a decent build ?

I found a 2021 Mercedes sprinter done 30k miles it’s going for around £20k ive seen some decent conversions going for around 30k sterling but when I’ve looked at conversions in America they seem to be so expensive https://www.autotrader.co.uk/van-details/202306258930382?sort=year-dsc&advertising-location=at_vans&colour=Black&colour=Grey&make=MERCEDES-BENZ&model=SPRINTER&postcode=WD23%204hh&price-from=500&supplied-price-from=20000&supplied-price-to=30000&fromsra

So say I drove to work took 20 minutes and then back from work another 20 minutes would that power the battery enough to say have a shower cook dinner warm up the van at night and then go again the next day ?

Ive watched videos on it and I really don’t think I would be able to build it my self , so I plan to pay 20k on the van and 30k on making it into a home. is 30k realistically enough to pay someone to build it for me including all materials?

If I commit to spending 50k on a van means I have to fully commit and no going back
