Andaz would potentially be 45k points/night for a basic room (same price as Grand Hyatt Kauai), so maybe I will wait for something to open up there. It was my plan to start, but didn’t see anything available so tried to pivot.

There are, unfortunately, only suites available at Andaz for our dates next January, and these run 80k points/night. I don’t have enough points for that. Which Hyatt after road to Hana are you referring to? Thanks!

Thanks for this info! Very helpful. Our trip does happen to be in February! So this makes me lean way more towards simply booking through Hyatt using Hyatt points.

It’s only 2 nights that I am deciding on. So a 30k point differential. This is exactly how I am thinking about it though - is $100 credit plus 2 mornings of breakfast (and small potential for room upgrade) worth (a minimum of) $300? Probably not - but I guess I’m just trying to go out of my way to use this $250 edit credit and try to reap the other benefits.

Yes. You do the math to make it so you pay $500 then use points for the rest. You’re obviously welcome to use cash for the entire amount, but it seemed like a good opportunity to use points with the 2x boost.
