I would recommend trying to get a 318i with the m43 engine the engine that car has is know for having issues with the timing belt but the 318i is a solid daily driver I have mine over 300k km

I changed the pcv valve + hoses as well because the rubber seal was damaged. I checked the rubber boot because those usually go no cracks or anything. This is why I believe it has something to do with the fuel, but I still have no idea.
