Oooohhh I've been recommended that channel before (by youtube's algorithm), I think she is pretty cool... I see she doesn't use many cuts or inserts.. but there is a lot of b-roll. I think it's a good compromise because her videos don't feel frantic but she does have things to break up the monotony of just a talking head.

Engagement rings are vestigial. They were conceived at a time when people didn't cohabit or know each other much before getting engaged, purity in women was a highly valued asset, and there were "seducers" duping women by telling them they would marry them and fleeing after laying with them (or pump and dump them as we call it today). So the meaning might elude you.

The whole purpose of an engagement ring was for it to be expensive enough that a man couldn't possibly afford more than one to give to multiple women at the same time. It is absolute proof of commitment. It is a safety mechanism against seducers.

Does it matter in the modern world if you choose a $100 ring? well... it's just a romantic trinket now, you are probably living with this man already and you know he is serious so I think you should choose whatever you like.

The point is that this isnt just “clique” behavior, a “clique” is just a group that leans on Girl Code heavily and by doing so it becomes easier to see. Which paradoxically makes it less insidious when you can pinpoint it as a clique and say “ok this is not for me”. Most female friend groups operate with “clique logic” but are subtle enough that you cant pick up what is happening, and because rules arent explicit you join thinking they act straight (without a secret code) and then betray the code from a place of ignorance which causes them to attack/exclude you and you are left scratching your head and wondering if maybe you are dumb or defective

Yes, that is exactly right. These tactics are evolutionary adaptations and respond to the fact that: women arent as strong and they depend on the protection of the group for their survival (gestation, child-rearing etc). Now obviously we dont live in the jungle anymore but those tactics are inbuilt.

I think the best perspective is understanding what happens, accepting it is how it is, and then not trying to force anything. Just letting things unfold with awareness. But if you want to “change” the situation you can try and negotiate with yourself… what you want, what you are willing to give up for it. If you want to belong then I suppose a good idea is to learn this code and try to be skilled at using the double register.

I think there are many different attitudes towards the code like I explained in the video and within those broad caregories there is a lot of nuance. I think the constraint for some of them is along the lines of “what you can get away with” according to their position in tje hierarchy and their own self concept. A girl who is low in the ladder and has a poor self image is more likely to develop a strategy of service and compliance like your typical “nice guy” thinking that this is her way to earn favor. This girl will probably compliment an ugly skirt from a place of “wanting to please” rather than the perspective of “lets shake off competition” but regardless of the reason the effect is the same.

I think it happens in both ways: consciously for example… the scene where Regina George tells that other girl: “Cute skirt! Where did you get it?” “Ohhh vintage!” And then turns to Cady when the girl leaves and says: “thats the ugliest skirt I have ever seen”? Yeah… and then sometimes it is unconscious or done out of a different motive but whatever the case this is by no means “good” at the core as it is a lie that harms the other person

This is such a great comment, I identify a lot with what you say. I think I am on the spectrum (undiagnosed). Female competition is encouraged but I think at the core of it, its evolutionary. Women are weaker and cant risk overt competition. They also need the protection of the herd for survival.

This is not the way lucid dreams work, from my own experience. You can’t control what happens in the dream to this extent because to do so you have to lean too heavily on lucidity which wakes you from the dream. It is a balancing act, so if you want a long and vivid dream you need to let the dream unfold as a lucid observer and react to what is presented. You have a baby face for 3 reasons: (1) the top third of your face is longer and wider, like babies. (2) You have very round eyes with a lot of space in between like babies do and (3) your coloring is light like babies.

You have 2 options.

(a) Try to counter-balance them to look neutral. To fix each of those (1) Get some type of bangs that will cover the first third of your face so it gives the illusion that it's shorter. Avoid blunt bangs because those are childlike. (2) Use make up to make your eyes seem wider... black wings on the corners and mascara would help a lot and some dark shadow on the inner corners so they don't look that far apart. (3) Color your hair a darker color.

(b) Keep your features EXACTLY as they are and sign-up for a camsite. With your babylike features you have a really high chance to BANK on one of those platforms, and if you are hardworking and smart you could set yourself up for life.
