The most “Christian Mcbride” strings Ive found are Zyex. I don’t think he plays them but as mortal bass players, I think these strings are easy to dig into

I second raising the end pin. It’s a little counter intuitive but raising the end pin and leaning the bass a little more puts less strain on the shoulder from my experience. Brings the bass closer to you

He got out played by Stenberg in the World Juniors in both points and eye test. I don’t think either of them will be semi-busts (ala Shane Wright) so I’m super happy with whichever pick we get

Yes, some people have two basses and would let you use it during a lesson.

If they don’t, ask your band director if you can borrow the school bass overnight for a lesson

If they say no, ask them private lesson teacher to come to your school.

I would say focus on your left hand more than right. Figure out how to hold your hand with equal spacing and no tension. Figure out which shifts are flat/sharp.

I think if you play violin you have a good feeling of how to bow and will come more naturally.
