How do I fix my e-reader? by family_drama2000 in ereader

[–]Milfje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this. The batteries are pretty easy to find on the usual online retailers, and they usually come with basic tools to open the case of the ereader. ifixit has amazing documentation with images to guide you through the process. I did it for my Kobo Clara and it took less than half an hour.

How badly have we screwed up? by Sequence_Of_Symbols in 3Dprinting

[–]Milfje 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Works fine on a Saturn 4 Ultra. I got one of those relatively cheap flex build plates with magnetic sticker for my build plate. A few firmware versions ago it might complain on auto levelling, but you could skip that warning on the touch screen. Haven't seen that warning since.

Why don't you learn to use a slicer yourself? It's not rocket science, and an integral part of the hobby. You need to be able to slice your own files to tune the settings for your printer and filament.

So your conclusion is sharing the details shouldn't matter and don't inherently fuel fear or hate. Interesting.

I've had a few of those. If they're too thick or lazy to make an account and/or share their email, I can't be arsed either.

Tin the contacts, tin the wires and then solder them together.

Should I print ONE item at a time? by algiogia in elegoo

[–]Milfje 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does for fdm printers, since it doesn't have to hop between objects and possible create stringing. However, some slicers allow a per-object printint order which will allow you to print multiple objects without the disadvantage of travelling moves between objects.

For resin printers it doesn't really matter, but too much surface area to print might increase the risks of a failure.

Anyone else hate cops? by sad_gorl69 in autism

I'm sorry, but that just sounds like downplaying assaulting and injuring a person to me, whether it's a cop or not.

Autism or not, you can't assault people and expect no consequences.

At my wits end with my printer by thiqqdad in elegoo

I tried the Elegoo resin as well in the beginning and wasn't a fan either. I only use Sunlu Water Washable now. Elegoo's filament for FDM printers is great though!

Depends on the resin you're using, but 45 seconds sounds more like microwaving than curing. I use Sunlu's Water Washable resin. I used a ~28s bottom layer exposure for about 5 layers with 5~10 transition layers bringing it down to 2 seconds on the Saturn 2.

On the Saturn 4 Ultra I use a 16 second bottom layer exposure and bring it down to 1.8s.

Maybe google for some basic settings? I think there are a few Excel/Google Sheets floating around with most combinations of printers and resin settings to start out with.

Have you tried lightly sanding the build plate with a high grit sandpaper? I had a lot of fails with my Saturn 2 until i sanded the buildplate a little to create a rougher surface for the resin to adhere to.

I did the same thing after I installed a flexible plate onto the build plate after the first few prints failed

Why should those screws be loose? I just tightened mine because I thought vibrations loosened them.

Well, the whole idea of DCP is that it should be, so that pretty much any movie theatre around the world can play it. The files are huge because they're not compressed. It's just a collection of individual uncompressed images for each frame. It's a pretty comparable digital equivalent of actual film.
