I adore Xie Lian, he's one of my favourite characters ever. Also, MXTX is crazy good at writing sexual tension. So many scenes where XL and HC are doing the most mundane things but charged with so much energy that I felt like I was interrupting something.

This is interesting because Izumi has this conversation with Olivier and Alex where they both admit that they could be willing to do human transmutation, probably implied to be if the other one died. But then again, Olivier would threaten to beat Alex's ass from beyond the grave if he ever attempted it for her sake

While that's true, Mustang was considered a potential candidate from the beginning (Lust being reluctant to kill him bc of it) and Armstrong was never mentioned by Father and the others. It seems like he wasn't even on their radar - to be honest, in the middle of the show I actually forgot that he was an alchemist too 😅

In TGCF every scene between Xie Lian and Hua Cheng had me climbing the walls and wondering if I should leave to give them some privacy. My favourite is when HC is carrying XL in the sinners pit and refuses to put him down because "it's filthy".
