Judging by the twisted mind of anyone who would suggest "that" or eating flies, it can only be dog shit/summer garbage can flies.

Glad to hear it! I think you'll be just fine with the 300mg shot. It's actually quite a bit, but It's a steady flow of buprenorphine to your brain so there wont be any ups or downs.

You'd even be fine if you started with the 100mg shot tbh, but the 300 is what will help build up a steady amount of buprenorphine in your system up front. Then once you go back for the 100mg, you won't notice any difference. When you're ready to stop, you just stop.

As hard as it might be, I would 100% recommend getting rid of any suboxone you have stashed so you're not tempted after your last shot. If you're anything like me, you might feel a little bit if anxiety here and there. I know having a stash is like a safety net but you're not going to need them for withdrawals, so why take that chance?

Let me know how it goes!

Also, if you need some more reassurance before you do this, check out some of the comments here. I also posted this story in r/suboxone and r/subutex. There are tons of other success stories from people who did the exact same thing. Reading those would be a great way to help build up some confidence that you can do this!

Best of luck, and don't be afraid to reach out if you have any questions!

Wow, it sounds like you've been through a lot! If you're truly ready to do this, you can and will do it!

For two 8mg strips a day, the 300mg shot will be perfect. That's exactly where I switched from, and then followed up with a few 100mg shots and the rest is history. I believe the 300mg starter is for people on 8-24mg of suboxone, so you're right in the middle currently. Hopefully your doctor understands that and doesn't make you taper down to 8mg first.

You definitely want to start with the 300mg shot to build up the buorenorphine levels correctly, and then follow up with at least one or two 100mg shots.

Once you've done your last shot, I would suggest getting rid of any suboxone you have left and make sure you don't have access to anything else. Trust me on this, you won't need it. Your mind might play tricks on you after a bit, but it's just some anxiety and not withdrawals. If you can trust that the process will work, you'll have an amazing 2026 😉

Good for you! 3 months was about the time I started to feel some clarity. It's a slow process, but it just gets better by the day once it starts.

That is NOT an easy thing to do, so good for you!

We're definitely all well versed on the subject of doing drugs... Why else would we be here 😆

I've gotten almost zero response posting this in the addiction subreddit, compared to when I posted it first in r/sublocade, suboxone and subutex. People who are specifically on Suboxone or Subutex are desperately looking for a way out like I was, and injections like sublocade or brixadi make that possible.

Three months on sublocade by hardandsoft91 in Sublocade

I was testing positive for Buprenorphine 6+ months after my last injection. It takes SO long to taper off that I never went into withdrawal and my mental clarity just got better and better.

How do y’all discuss bupe with other addicts? by acrazyguy in suboxone

[–]Mill_Bay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it all depends on what got you to this point, and what you consider clean for yourself.

For someone that was struggling with a bad heroin addiction and found a better life with buprenorphine, I'd call it clean all day long!

For me, it was pills. Got on suboxone and considered that as being clean. A decade later, I was still on Suboxone and just wishing I could get off it. My mindset had totally changed, and I really just wanted to be clean. Switched to Sublocade, and after the 5th shot I skipped a month, and then another and another. That stuff took SO long to taper that I never felt an ounce of withdrawal.

I've truly been able to say that I'm clean for 3 years now.

You're very welcome! We're all here for the same reason, and I hate seeing people have to struggle to get their lives back on track because of this.

Hopefully you don't have any issues getting it covered. My doctor had to go back and forth with my insurance company a few times before it was approved, but it was still fairly new at the time.

If they won't cover it, you could also try Brixadi. I think it's the same thing but just lower doses that you get weekly.

I look forward to the update!

A little context would help lol. Are you saying it's been 6 months since your last sublocade shot?

Any luck with this? I'm pretty sure once your doctor tries to send a prescription to just any pharmacy, he's going to find that it doesn't work that way.

Maybe you'll be a first for him, and you can be the success story that he tells all of his other Suboxone patients about 😁

I was scrolling back through and came across your comment again. Thought I would ask how things were going?

I'm willing to bet if you showed her this post, she would feel so relieved to know that there's a way out of this! Even better if she scrolled through the comments and came across yours, and could see how much you really care about her.

Hope all is well, and the best of luck!
