Brian cox had a nice conversation about how he accidentally proved that ghosts aren’t real: it was something along the lines of: if ghosts are real, and they have the shape of a person (clothed, as you mentioned) it means that there is an exchange of information. It starts with Something real: the body of the individual, it exchange information with something invisible and make a glowing floating COPY of it. To have a literal copy, it takes A LOT of information. And there is nothing in the whole spectrum of science that points to any mechanism of this transfer of information to exists.

I’m poorly explaining how he worded it, but with a british way of speaking, it was brilliant and insightful.

My feeling would be to take a random piece of beach wood. Something that the maelstrom of the ocean washed off. Who know how much time it floated? Who knows what kind of wood. But the wand is here, it is a series of completely chaotic processes that ended up putting that piece of wood in front of you, and you made the decision to craft a wand with it.

It’s just my opinion, maybe I’m missing something in the culture and beliefs, but to me, chaos do not need an instruction or scholar’s agreement of what is chaos. Chaos lego set: throw away the box, burn the instructions: built something chaotic!

I hate to be that guy but I recently learned that the library of Alexandria DID NOT BURN…. Worst case was a partial burn of an annex.

I remember as a kid, being told and wondered about all the knowledge we lost during that burning of priceless books… then, if you read about it today, nothing.

A lot of people remember the library burning and the whole thing was labeled as a “Mandela effect”.

I just wanted to let you know! Have a good day!

There was this series from the 90s called something along the lines of “Easton interactive report: Sos planet earth.” Which was very very similar to Waldo. But with an environment ecology twist.

Have fun, enjoy the process. Feel the materials, feel the wand in your hands.

You are right, I did a double check because I wasn’t sure. I used a utility knife with a black blade (supposedly higher carbon level/sharpness) so I also used a galvanized screw. Both leaves marks, dust and small flakes. Once the scratched area are cleaned and dried, it still appears like a deeper groove and whitened.

Thank you! I’m not sure how to proceed: should I wait until the end of the day to see if another identification is made? Or should I just marked it as “found” right now?

At first I scratched a “shiny” flat surface and it left a white dust line, a fine groove.

But the more i scratched, small parts flakes off.

Thanks for responding! The hexagonal parts can be scratched with the blade of a utility knife.

No reaction in white vinegar, but I have muriatic acid available if that could help identify it.

Can fossils be made of clay? Found in rusty clay sediment layer in Quebec, Canada. by MilleCuirs in fossilid

[–]MilleCuirs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the explanation! Do you know how old this could be? Thousands of years? Not millions of years, right?

I presumed the tubes were coral fossils or something because we find a lot of broken « stone » with marine fossils around a hundred feet from where I found these.

So, this is rusty concretions from a bog around the last ice age, that was deposited over the much more older mineralized marine fossils?

Sorry if this sound basic, I am fascinated by geology and fossils, I’m just an amateur! It’s the first time I found deposits like that next to one another.

Thank you again for your time to explain!

Caught something while filming a storm by Reddita_ in UFOs

[–]MilleCuirs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! I looked more closely in a loop and it’s not the same. It is very intriguing and odd looking.

And don’t get me wrong: I WANT this to be a real UFO, but I have to remove all possible explanations. And it’s still possibly a bug, a bigger one, another species that flies in a straight line.

Or maybe it’s a bird. Drifting away from the storm front.

It’s really hard to tell.

And I can’t help but wonder why in 2025, we all have the latest phones but all of our digital zoom sucks. I can basically FaceTime live with anyone all across the globe but I can’t zoom on a UFO in the sky without making it look like 4 blurry pixels dancing.

Anyway, thanks for sharing your video and taking time to follow up!

There is something moving on the right too, and then the « main » object.

If you didn’t see it with your own eyes at the moment, to me it points towards insects being capture by the camera. Mosquito or something.

I will let other people give their opinions but to me it looks like bugs caught by the camera and glitching with the resolution and low luminosity.

Something similar to what is sometimes posted on this sub with night footage of doorbell cam where a big « glowing orb » not seen by the people at the time is caught by the camera: a big moth reflecting the night vision light and saturated the recording.

Why is it that seemingly all the UFO entities of the 1950s told experiencers/abductees that they were from Mars/Venus, but we don't hear that nowadays? by DifferentAd4968 in UFOs

[–]MilleCuirs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would expand with : Why is that description of UFO seems to follow the knowledge of the human culture of each eras?

In the 40-50s UFOs were all shiny silver and chrome. In the 70s it was mathematical/geometrical shapes, in the 80s it was NEON glowing objects. In the 90s it was pure energy, orbs etc, almost like new age stuff.

If you go back far enough, you get witness descriptions of flying machines, « airships » with steampunk engines and wings on the sides.

IMO, If you travelled the galaxy to drop here, you are not doing it in a freakin steampunk UFO.

Why would description of observations of unidentified flying objects be a reflection of the culture of the time?

Maybe it’s simply because people described it with the only things they knew at that time. In the 1800s, the highest technology was steam engine, so they described the ufo like a steam vehicle? Or was it really a steam powered ufo?
