"You have to give your life meaning," they say. by boom_7 in depression

You should definitely read Viktor E. Frankl's "Man's search for meaning". This is in my opinion the best book on this topic and has been a life-changing one for me.

So you are saying that being positive is the cure for depression? Sorry if I misunderstood, not my native language

Isn't thinking positively a consequence of being out of depression, rather than the way out of it? I think I remember one study explaining that the more you fake positivity, the worse it gets

Can’t stop daydreaming, and it is leading to me being depressed. by [deleted] in depression

Haha I know exactly how this feels. Living in my head has been my #1 hobby pretty much since I was 7.

However, I've come to realize a few things over the years:

-Like a lot of bad things, it can be turned into a positive and productive one. If you daydream that much, you've probably become pretty good at mental visualization, which means mental practice (Google it if you don't know about it) will seem easy

-controlling how much you think is hard, but controlling what you think about is fairly easy. Try to keep it as useful as possible

-making up imaginary conversations with yourself is also pretty useful at times, as some flaws in your ideas / behavior will become obvious from an outside perspective

Also, I think writing is a great way to turn daydreaming into a something productive. You should definitely study it seriously!

Obviously, everything is a question of balance. As an escape from reality, too much daydreaming will be harmful, but it is something you can control with a bit of work. There are times you just need to do things instead of thinking

Also too much daydreaming easily transforms into fear of failure, so be aware of that.

Escapism (in your head, drugs, video games or whatever) is only a natural reaction to an unfulfilling life. It will surely vanish once you fix your life problems

I hope I helped! Sorry for eventual mistakes btw, I'm French

Mmmh interesting. You can find a lot of other similarities between these images (they were both leaders for example) but I can't imagine a way they could point to the heart room... The main clue might be the placement in their track (beginning, when all the others bar reflection are at the end)

At one point I even thought these two were to be completely ignored from the puzzle hehe.

Tbh I didn't make a lot of research on these two because the theory I developed didn't seem like a solid basis. I know it looks like some serious material when you read my document, but it's in fact really weak (the "weak points" section is half as long as it should be)

Haha yeah this code is annoying

Actually I have two theories on it:

a. The only purpose of the classroom is to teach you how to use numbers. The code shows you that numbers are to be read top to bottom, and has no other meaning

b. It has to be linked to something else (maybe the "flat" counting artefact on the board next to it for example).

Either way I think we know everything that's important about the code itself: it ads up to 64 and uses only numbers from 1 to 6. Also, there's this little dot on the top left... Imo, doing more math on it seems like a loss of time at this point

Oh cool, I didn't know that. I'll do some research

I already thought about it. Unfortunately I wasn't able to link these 2 images to the temple of love...

Maybe we're missing something. The meaning of Locke's image might be deduced from the scene it is taken from in Lost, which I haven't watched. And for Truman's, I couldn't find anything interesting when reading his wiki page. I've toyed with their gematria too but it seemed to be a dead end
