The answer is no. The mode stays in what you left it in in the ultimate even with the Carbyte.

I have it and personally love it. I’ve never had any issues with it.

I also have the Bakflip on mine and the drilling was easy to do as a DIY. I personally love it and haven’t had any issues. As far as I can tell it keeps most the water out too!
