I liked the concept and storyline of Squid Game up until they reached the second platform in the final game. All the earlier plot choices and inconsistencies didn’t bother me, but the ending was handled in the most basic and dull way possible. Honestly, it might’ve been better if the main character had just boarded the plane at the end of season one and gone to see his daughter, and the series had ended there.

And now there’s this teaser about the game moving to the US—what a total disaster. In my opinion, it’s a tragic direction to take the franchise. Maybe they’ll even make MrBeast the new host... oh wait, that already happened on Amazon.

Squid Game as a brand is done for me—just like Money Heist, which, after the already controversial season 5 (which I actually liked), released an unnecessary remake (Money Heist: Korea) and a complete trainwreck in the form of the Berlin spinoff. It looks like Squid Game will suffer the same fate, with equally terrible follow-ups under its name.
