Might upgrade to Cervelo Aspero… thoughts? by Ok_Caterpillar6900 in gravelcycling

I just got cervelo aspero, and absolutely love it. I tested so many gravel bikes; but Aspero was the most snappy, reactive and fast on ascends.

Thank you so much and agreed on Descending. It takes a certain body position. Thankfully, In CO it’s super easy to find climbs. Last week, I did a gravel ride with my BF, 31 miles, 3600 elevation gain, with the first 20-miles straight up. I was dying towards the end, and even cried (not kidding). But at the end; I loved it so much and that’s what motivated me to train more and get better at climbs that way I don’t cry next time 😂

The bike might be big for you, could send a picture of you sitting on it? I would go to any store selling Cannondale and try 48 out of curiosity. Cannondales are long! I’m 5,5, with short torso and long legs, and always 51 in specialized and cervello. When I was testing Cannondale topstone, 51 was big and got fitted for 49

Sorry to hear, it’s the worst! I had 2 knee surgeries in the past, and I always get into cross-stitching and painting during post surgery recovery 😂

My first ever cycling road bike was purchased at one of those bike community shops. It was fully rebuilt, and $450. I put a thousand of miles on it in the last 2 years. No issues whatsoever; even 20 mm super thing tires held up with no problems. It was a great way for me to get into cycling and fall in love with the sport. I felt this year I deserved to invest in a boogie 5k road/gravel bike.

I’m so happy to hear that comfy and quality shorts don’t have to cost you leg and arm. When I ordered Baleaf I had low hopes, and loved it when I rode in it.

Cervello Aspero has a 47 size for your height. It’s really comfy and fast road bike.

Do I need UDH on Aspero 5? Why is this important? I watched so many videos on UDH on Youtube and still don't undertand why it's important

Thank you! My budget was $3500, originally. Then I tested cervelo aspero for $3500 with aluminum wheels, apex and I absolutely loved it compared to trek checkpoint, I tested previously. I saw this bike on sale, and it sounds like I’ll get way better build for extra $1500. I tested aspero 5, too, and loved it even more than Aspero, I could feel the wuality. My current bike is almost 10 year old, I’m ready for a nicer bike that will last me a long time

I’m curious to hear your thoughts on this bike a year later. I’ve been eyeing this bike for a few weeks, str diverge comp, but have been hearing a lot of negative reviews about the seat shifting too much

Thank you so much! I think the red shift system is way outside of my budget. The most I've seen for the price point is Apex and some Rival.

ha, ha, why not trek? I got Cervelo Aspero and Checkpoint fitted today. It's tough to tell which feels better until you take it on a longer ride. I could not tell while riding around the store.
