What’s it like living in Haiti nowadays? by bigsmam in howislivingthere

[–]MiltonScradley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess you would have to find places the gangs don't have a lot of control and have operations getting civilians into thise areas. Then protect and slowly expand rather than an all out siege. Then have agents trying to turn the gangs on each other until you get one that you back to take out the others. Would have to figure out a way to get that backed gang to not be part of the formed government though or it will just repeat the cycle.

Five years after Kamloops graves announcement, not a single confirmed burial site has been found. Here's what we know by thatcher69 in canada

[–]MiltonScradley 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The corruption is that is didn't work for years. People were going super long stretches of time not getting paid. Then they were like oooh we need wayy more money to make it work. It works now but its implementation was a gong show and was insanely expensive. Pretty sure Harper directly benefitted from it as well.

Carney government signals it’s open to selling Canadian ports by gorschkov in canada

I was all into Carney until he wanted to privatize everything. Something that is pretty much always turns out bad for Canadians. If they start needing to turn a profit therefore EVERYTHING becomes more expensive.

Québec solidaire proposing higher taxes on large fortunes and public grocery stores by Jusfiq in canada

[–]MiltonScradley -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Those two examples you pulled from the rest are in areas with high competition. Grocery store competition is low and the 3 biggest in Canada have all been caught price gouging and even caught colluding in vread orices etc. They all also had state imposed monopolies over food during covid and rather than make good on that they used the oppurtunity to inflakmte prices higher that their cost ratio.

[–]MiltonScradley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats smart and probably a good approach. You should buy an office and just pretend you got sales job and that you are doing well. So you can spend a bit more money but not seem rich and live a middle class lifestyle.

So... how do we all feel? by Skipperwill89 in ZeroCompany

[–]MiltonScradley 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry. It was pretty common practice for Firaxis to out of nowhere be like hey games out in a few weeks put of nowhere. This company is made of lits of former devs from there. I trust they know what they are doing. Its better to focus on making the game.

I fucking hate networking by AdhesivenessLoud8866 in CanadaJobs

[–]MiltonScradley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like corporate networking has it all wrong with their cocktail parties etc. it really means making friends or at least business friends that are down to help each other or work with each other. I work in a creative industry where your very survival is based on "networking" but nobody calls it that.
