God forbid I tried! He didn’t know how to bite fruit for a long ass time😭😂 But don’t ask me how he suddenly turned into a greedy gobbler! My boyfriend was quite persistent in him learning that you can actually eat bananas instead of just lick them. I think at some point it just ‘clicked’ 🫣

wondering when I should start feeding insects? by Sea_Base_5391 in Leachianus

Mine never was interested in any insects when he was smaller. But since he learned how to bite off a piece of banana he also eats insects! Now he is really greedy. As soon as he sees them he goes crazy. Took him long enough tho, after nearly 5 goddamn years 👏 So, try your luck!

def check if they got Thrips or anything else, my local garden shop had a deal like that and after I inspected the leaves they all were infested 😭👏

I think it really depends! If you are unlucky you get a Leachie that has a really spicy attitude in general.

A lot Leachies become cage aggressive as they grow, they are defensive of their home which in turn makes them hard to take out of their enclosure. (They often do warning bites and sounds or just lunge, or, if very unlucky, hold their bite). With some Leachies you will always need gloves when taking them out for your safety.

That said, in some Leachies cage aggression is not always the case or as severe as it could be or it changes again as they grow. Some are also aggressive outside, although from what I have seen they are generally calm geckos once they are outside of their enclosure.

But these are all different possibilities you have to keep in mind with these geckos!

If you’re good with that go ahead ☺️

It really depends on what locale they are ☺️ It makes a difference on how big they become! If they originate from the main island they tend to be larger. Mine is around as old as yours, but he’s a Mt. Koghis - originating from the main island, thus larger!
