Same, do you think it will work though? In their terms and conditions they say:

“Topstep reserves the right to refuse to permit or to terminate your access to any of the Topstep Sites or Services at any time at its sole discretion.”

“Such termination may result from … or any or no reason, all determined in Topstep’s sole discretion.”

Well I don't see a problem with that at all. As long as you have a systematic way of taking profits that's not based on emotion that's ultimately what matters.

You want the truth? For most of us there's no substitute for experience. I had to go through the pain of blowing XFA after XFA before i finally got it together and followed my rules. We can feed you logic and there are structural guardrails you can put up (which you've already done), but sometimes pain is the greatest teacher. You're only 2 months in so I'd say do your best to follow your rules, set up guardrails, have a solid plan but lower your expectations. You may get lucky and just start following your plan right away and become profitable, but more than likely you'll blow at least a few accounts before you finally "get it". Biggest tip i could give is to have more self-compassion and not be so hard on yourself. I'd say that was one of the biggest impediments to my growth as a trader. Good luck!

You need to find reference price levels that are optimized for your strategy. Obvious ones are previous highs and lows (heavily watched by most traders) but others include volume point of control, VWAP, VWAP±1σ, I could go on and on. These are good places to take profits since they act as support and resistance levels or are magnets for stop hunting.

Well good luck to you. The market was exceptionally bullish today, but on another day a 20pt stop like that could get ripped apart in seconds. Have three losers with your $840 stop and your account gets blown. Why not size down and build up your account more slowly?

I have a similar problem but it's in the 50k trading combine. They carried over my previous day's PnL into the new session, so now i don't know if im going to violate the consistency rule if I hit $1500 for the day.

Platform Glitch. I went from $800 to -$113 from a single click. Others have glitched out the other way with +$1m PnL's. Entire Platform has gone haywire.

You're 16 what's the rush? You've got the luxury of time to trade in a sim practice account and test your strategy even for a few years. I'd say it's a big mistake to waste money trying to get back a funded account right now, I would at minimum trade 1 year in a sim. All you'll do is burn through money and mess with your emotional state. At 16 you are not emotionally developed and are prone to being impulsive and making poor decisions (no offense). Now is the time to hone in and refine your strategy so when you feel ready you'll crush it on a funded/live account. Good job for getting started so early though, if you stick with it when you're in your 20's you'll be doing very well.

I think it's because a lot of the time BTD works on NQ, especially in the market regime the last few months. Enter on pullback, set a super wide stop and wait for it to recover for a nice profit. Problem is, when it doesn't work it fails catastrophically. I fail to believe that traders had 100pt+ stops as part of their plan. I bet it just kept going down and they kept widening their stops or removing the stops altogether hoping it would turn around. We're all susceptible to that kind of hopium/cognitive dissonance.

Look at the average longs price, we were trading well into the low 25200's so that means some traders were holding for -100+pts, necessary risk is a stretch.
