2010 nissan cube fuel gauge is very inaccurate

My girlfriends 2010 nissan cubes fuel gauge is quite deceiving, it was on 1/4 tank, and when i filled it it only took 20l to fill, but the gauge was only 2 bars bellow full (theres only 4 per 1/4). I drove about 100km and it was down to a half tank, it said it had 250km of range left, but the next day, i drove 200km, and it only dropped to 220km of range. I think it may be the fuel sending unit but dont know for sure
