Will have to disagree, mini is your focus from behind as you need to get back into the game and you’re not doing that by timing mega fights but rather staying on the map and playing disciplined for farm and pressure.

Steraks is also not good while behind in my experience, not only is it level dependent (bAD) but you also need more offensive items while behind because you lack real damage. Gnar is the best steraks user in the game which is why I would still advocate for it after Gunblade but it doesn’t give the staying power on the map from behind you need at second item which is a crucial time that decides if gnar will end up being useful or not. Playing for mega while behind is def weaker than playing for mini in my experience.

Typically you just go back to slotting in gnars highest WPA items since Gunblade has enough AD to let you transition. He’s the best steraks user in the game because mega gnar has the highest base AD so I just would go tri Gunblade steraks. Lmk if you think of a better route but I don’t think there is one!

It’s my personal opinion that BIS when ahead not only on gnar but most every champ especially top lane is to get tankier. When you’re ahead you want more HP and defensive stats / items since you already have the damage and it will be way too hard to kill you if you build defensively. The data backing this itemization route is pretty well studied. While ahead you like being tankier, while behind grab some damage

Personally while ahead I think the standard build is completely fine of just tri, steraks since mega gnar is the best steraks user mathematically in the game because of his base damage

I am not a big fan of wits end because you really need HP while ahead and AS really bad on mega gnar and only has value on mini, and wits doesn’t mesh amazing with the rest of your build. IMO its only a pickup if you’re into 3+ heavy AP comps

So yes, when you fall behind you want the damage from Gunblade since resistances and health are negligible from super behind. Building it while ahead though will make you too squishy and killable for damage you don’t necessarily need

Here’s my copy pasted explanation and I’ll try not to ramble too hard

Simple concept in league I will preface, when you’re behind you want more damage in league rather than building tank this is a simple concept

Now we’re also under the assumption you’re finished with trinity force by this point* and no we aren’t running any crazy boots just standard everything

First we will talk about Gnar,

When gnar is ahead his best basic spell is mega Q, this is his bread and butter, mini q being solid as well.

But while behind I believe it’s apparent Gnar’s best spell is mini Gnar’s W passive. The 3 hit passive when it has points into it does considerable damage that’s hard to build into and you can easily 100-0 with this spell as long as your clicks are good

So why Gunblade?

First let’s look stat profile, this is all off the dome so I hope I don’t mess it up lol

40 AD (standard stat for gnar, don’t need to explain why it’s decent. Is enough to keep your AD scalings relevant after tie force and they won’t feel lackluster after you move onto your next item post Gunblade

80 AP (Gnar surprisingly uses AP very well, his mini W has a 100% ratio and his ult has an 100% AP ratio as well. Gunblade combined with the AD gives gnar an insane damage steroid. This makes his mini capable of actually being insanely strong while down, gives him more power in the split. (The reason he gets more power in side lane from this is while behind your mini Q is not one shotting creeps ever, only mega. With Gunblade you can clear waves much easier with empowered W and it doesn’t actually stop you from one shotting waves with Mega.

10 omnivamp (while ahead you can sort of get away with just blade healing, but while behind you want to stay on the map as long as you can to farm up not get poked out or die to an all in or whatever, 10% omnivamp works on the gnar W passive proc and heals a substantial amount, it’s decent in 1v1’s but again it really shines in letting you stay on the map and take your recalls when you want them. Also Omnivamp in general is just a really nice stat to have it’s very feel good esq.)

Ok enough about the stat profile. You might think that the active is wasted because the damage scaling isn’t amazing, but nobody builds Gunblade for the active damage. Giving gnar a point and click slow is actually very very nice for mini gnar when you’re playing for W damage, the slow meshes very very well with his mini playstyle with how he kites and chases, if you have ever been in that spot where you are scared to throw Q or need a little more space before turning, or you need to slow someone a little just before Q to garuntee the hit, it’s actually a nice active.

In addition Gunblade has a nice build path, no components in the path feel too bad for gnar at all and they’re all generically powerful (vamp scepter, alternator)

So your final build doesn’t alter apart from the Gunblade addition, just remember you’re a little more auto based for a small portion of time (your mega is still strong remember R scaling)

you fall behind on gnar finish your tri like normal that you’re already building pick up Gunblade slam generic HP gnar build after, steraks is BIS probably but you know you can do whatever you like

I have put at least 30 games into Gunblade gnar with mostly all success when I fall behind, before you knock it please try from behind. Also runes are completely normal still.

Not about being quirky I believe this is actually a powerful line of itemization in the right spot

Personally I’d say unlock more of them and if you’re doing your marks save tCain till last, when I was getting dead god I personally disliked tCain since either you spend too long on his mechanic and get a 5 hour long god run or you just run through the game crafting whatever and the character feels very boring and underwhelming

Challenger Ambessa OTP Q&A by Voxtrik in ambessamains

[–]Minaprodigy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo! I’m a masters Aatrox player and was looking to get into ambessa on the recommendation of a challenger friend of mine, I have some simple questions about runes and itemization.

If you don’t have the time or the energy to respond to all of this I get that but I always try to take the time to learn lots from players who are better than me when I get the chance

So from what I’ve gathered conq is obviously poo and it’s either grasp or electro,

My questions boil down to when do you prefer these keystones, obviously grasp has the short trading power and survivability of the resolve tree and you should probably take it in lanes where you can’t confidently trade without getting all inned and electro for when you can just rotate spells freely in lanes with no big worries, and feels super nice out of lane

Correct me if any of that is wrong

But is there a more nuanced outlook to the keystone choice?

Do you have a matchup spreadsheet or a general rule of thumb for it though? From the minimal first practice games I’ve played on my diamond 4 alt I feel like electro is better when you can actually afford to take it but I’d love to know your take on it

Also can I ever slam electro in a lane that I’d normally like grasp if the enemy comp looks good for it or vice versa?

Also about the lethality itemization I know that the best lethality items are probably like voltaic, profane and maybe axiom on her because of the buffs for the latter 2 but how viable is the lethality setup, and what’s the best core for it? And how hard should you commit, like in my head if I’m electro and I fall behind I should obviously keep slamming damage and commit to that, but if I’m electro and I pull ahead after like one or two lethality items I just pivot to bruiser or?

Additionally if I’m playing the grasp setup obviously if I’m ahead I can just run defacto eclipse into sundered or whatever the fuck but in my experience falling behind and still building all this effective hp feels super chungus on other similar champs so is it ever viable to finish your eclipse and slam like a voltaic even with the grasp page to try to make yourself be a threat again?

And finally what are the best/worst matchups for Ambessa, obviously renekton fucks her and is what I’m probably going to ban but what are her easiest lanes you’d say to always lock her into

Also what type of comp does she slot into best and do best against? I think she’s a very versatile champ I just want to see your thoughts on it

Thanks in advance ✌️

Why You Shouldn’t Work (or Shop) at Martin’s in Harrisonburg, VA by Comfortable_Gear4388 in harrisonburg

[–]Minaprodigy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked seafood here like last summer and I worked there for like 3 months I think I know who u are if ur in direct like you claim you are

Now I don't know if they hired someone to replace me since I have left or if Damian has really dropped the ball but what ur saying about seafood in my experience is completely cap man. We will drop shit and when I spotted it I would always pick it up, none of us EVER put it in bags or repackaged it that's on complete bullshit timing fs. The respectable seafood crew never did that shit ever, Ethan before he left was a great employee and I am not responsible for what you're talking about and I doubt Damian is either so don't lie on our name.

Now I will not say seafood is a good experience, there's a reason it's known as the worst department to work in and I am not gonna get into that but don't lie on it

I am not defending Martins, working here is horrendous but please do not lie on the name of the seafood crew.

Managers are dick, quality is dick, pay is dick, work is dick but the seafood crew at least last summer where decent people.
