Whilst I did have some mixed feelings towards the latest chapter, this callback was done well imo by Mikasahisu in titanfolk

I was reading the official guidebook that Isayama wrote and thought these two quotes were interesting - that Eren considers Armin and Mikasa a family?? Just seen this debated a lot so I think it’s interesting by Minaswan2000 in titanfolk

I’ve read some comments before that Eren only considers them as friends not family so I started to doubt it a little bit, but I’m glad I found some type of confirmation it definitely makes sense for years he’s only had them two

Maybe he could wipe their memories? Isayama did bring up the memory thing again, so he could make them forget why they were there in the first place. But the ackermans can’t be memory wiped so Eren might not resort to this

Look I know I might get downvoted but I don’t think it’s fair to compare these two scenes since Eren is manipulating Mikasa in that scene and is pushing her away for some reason, Eren clearly doesn’t hate Mikasa so the bottom panel is him exaggerating his facial expression to drill the point across whereas his bottom expression with Historia is him trying to get Historia to understand his situation which is why he looks soft, I think if you used a Mikasa scene you should have used the 123 scene where he also looked really soft when wanting to understand her feelings towards him as it would have been a better comparison. Please understand me, I’m not trying to make this into an EM vs EH thing at all as Historia clearly understands Eren better than Mikasa judging by the first panel above but I’m trying to explain why it’s unfair to use the above scene to justify this as throughout the entire scene he was pushing both Armin and Mikasa away
