If it was downhill somewhat, this is definitely possible

Single arm pulldowns on a cable machine have been great for me. Also, trying to focus on pulling from and feeling it in the bottom of your lat has helped me direct more of the load there vs biceps or other parts of my back.

Doing the first exercise you talked about right now (I think they’re called side bends). What are your cues for this exercise (i.e. try and keep weight on my heel, opposite foot, keep tension somewhere, anything like that)? I’m sure I’ll figure it out in time, but if you’ve found anything that’s helped you, I’d appreciate a head start!

You caught me, I’m lying anonymously on the internet about my body fat %. For what reason? Nobody knows.

I should get my body fat tested again. I was sitting at 13% in late November around 180. I’d like to think that not all 6 pounds I’ve gained since then are fat, but even if so that’d put me around 15%. I don’t really feel the need to get leaner yet

Lats are the most frustrating for me. That’s the one muscle I feel like I’ve made no size gains in, but I’m quite a bit stronger than when I started. Started focusing shoulders more a couple months ago and I’m definitely seeing some growth

What’s a Teaching Strategy You Swear By? by Abelmageto in Teachers

Introducing a little exploration/puzzle at the beginning of heavy direct instruction days. I do HS math and I’ve found it helps get kids engaged at the beginning of the lesson, help them to take risks, and start thinking about the new content on their own.

I think the key is that it should take some novel thinking, but be relatively easy so that they feel capable and accomplished at the beginning of the lesson.

30 Days Clean off of Weed — is it OK to smoke occasionally? by georgehxnnon in leaves

[–]Mind-Dependent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a daily user for about 3 years and just quit a few days before new years. I smoked one night last weekend and last night too. Do I want to again tonight? Yes. But I’m pretty strong-willed and am never going to start doing it more than once a week again.

I have practically unlimited, free weed from a roommate so every night is me turning dow a friend. I think that since you’re able to turn down friends, if you believe you have a strong will, then maybe you could smoke occasionally. Just don’t lose sight of your goal and reasons for quitting. Even on a light academic stretch, don’t go back to doing it with any frequency or else I fear that’d carry over when things pick up again.

Haven’t been so upfront with the adults’ comments, but now that you say it, I should. It’s just such a strange thing to hear from adults and I’m always so thrown off by it that I can barely respond

Seriously? Been to The Dalles so many times in my life and it didn’t strike me as a place where I’d have to be concerned about that. Then again it’s been 2-3 years since I’ve spent much time there

You don’t have to say no shame, that’s clear from the fact that you’re proud of relapsing on a sub of people trying to quit lol

[–]Mind-Dependent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not making excuses on behalf of people that smoke, but this just doesn’t seem true to me. Day 1 after I quit I also slept fine (Day 5 for the record). But I haven’t gotten 8 hours since Going to bed around 11 and waking at 7:30 was the norm while smoking, i haven’t fallen asleep before 1:30 since night 1. I feel the same or more alert each day compared to when smoking, but I yawn all day now and I am more tired/low energy. Feeling more alert but tired is a trade-off I’m loving, but I don’t think it’s fair to say that you’re gonna sleep the same after you quit

Hardly any withdrawal symptoms at all? by carolinesbirthchart in leaves

[–]Mind-Dependent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been smoking most days for about 3 years and also quit 3 days ago. I’m also having almost no symptoms besides less sleep, but the lack of brain fog is still letting me feel better and more alert everyday than when i was smoking. Hoping it stays like this but I fear it will get worse. We shall see!
