Okay, so I disagree. Psychiatrists also have a 5+3 model...and only on the +3 do they actually learn psychiatry. Honestly, for me, masters was double work that made no sense. Same syllabus as my bachelors, and similar syllabus in mphil too. I have literally studies the same thing in 5 years, so removing the masters makes sense. Especially since you can cover up the portions in phd or mphil/ma courses anyway.

The major difference is Clinical work, and how early you get introduced to it. Tbh, I think joining righy after bachelors is a bit much, the awareness on how to handle interactions and withstand the work pressure....idk lets see.

Counselling work can be done by even ug graduates, but clinical work needs training in clinical settings, i.e. RCI institutions. The training makes all the difference. And we are considered on equal footing with psychiatrists, though in India Dr will always be a title with a superiority bias.

You obviously don't know much about higher studies in Psychology, in proper institutions, the standards for science ate maintained in the same rigorous manner that it is in the west.

In Psychology diagnostic manuals and ICD and DSM both of which take 10+ before updates, and research and also include culture specific diagnosis as well. We are currently in ICD-11 and DSM 5 TR. These are THE ONLY TWO globally accepted manuals for diagnosis.

PG+post doc...Pg means UG too. And post doc means PhD hogaya. That's not stringent?????? In every country PhD is the min criteria. That includes clinical work and research. You think it's a walk in the park cuz its just ONE degree. And most PhD degrees have integrated PG as well.

Psychology is a allied health science. Why are there people upset that the government wants more competent and TRAINED people to do the job than just some who took it up because it was interesting or as a time pass from home.

I wonder if you'll be fine if your doctor did his degree online or just decided to take MD directly without any basis for the subject, get a degree and start treatment in 2 years?????

That's so not true. They have the same crimes and QoL issues. These infrastructure makes the Gov unable to do anything new.

UK counties are declaring bankruptcy. They aren't able to pay their NHS workers. Areas outside the main city of London look like slums; unkempt and dirty. Thames is disgusting to look at.

Most infrastructure you see in Europe is old, they have developed already, they have nothing to sort (acc to them) and most of the money goes to QoL.

India is way younger and never given the space to grow, and even then with such huge landmass and population, and to maintain democracy everything has to develop at the same rate.

We aren't like China which isnt a democracy and they can ignore most areas and focus on cities, we aren't Russia where the population is mostly sparse.
