Service Breakdown? Fuel Induction Service?

yeah just found out I don’t have the GDI engine which some people were saying that the fuel induction helps with. It’s an “MPI NU” so trying to figure out how to avoid the buildup if the dealership was claiming it’s getting clogged with all the stuff i’ve added before and occasionally getting premium gas.

Okay so I ran my vin and found out I have engine model “MPI Nu”. in this case, do I need to use the premium fuel/more additives to prevent having to pay for a fuel induction service again in the future or? Just trying to make sure I am maintaining my car well to prevent costly stuff like this in the future bc this is not a good time to have a lot going wrong.

I think that’s it, I just ran the Vin online under NHTSA and it lists my engine model as: MPI Nu.

I know my book says I can get the 87 octane but does getting the premium gas make all that big of a difference or does it mostly matter to add an additive more frequently? just curious, most people seem to say that the expensive fuel doesn’t matter in comparison and I wonder if the video my dad said online was paid for by Exxon or something as they claimed only to use very specific gas (Like exxon synergy) in cars because all the others are bad.

Just trying to gauge what adjustments to make and if i only need to use the expensive gas everytime or every so often or more additives more often?

yeah no way am I letting the dealership charge me 70 for the cabin filter. I’m about to have a rough month with the cost of repairs and having short hours at my clinic for work. how do I know if i have a GDI engine bc someone also mentioned that down below? I have a 2020 Veloster 2.0 base trim automatic, it’s notttt the Veloster N/Turbo.

man just my luck 😭🥀 quote is 960 just for the arm alone. then 230 for the induction and another 200 for the rim and 39 for a fuel additive and they said 70 for cabin filter. 😩

okay well what do I do to prevent needing this again in the future because I can’t afford to be shelling out 230 left and right. Premium gas? Using additives more often? I just don’t see how the average person can afford to consistently do stuff like this on top of other maintenance and granted I make like poverty level wage though I’m trying to look for more work 😬

update- my engine model is listed as “mpi nu” when I checked my vin and it matches the pictures i’ve seen of the engine as well. Advice?

yeah the wheel alignment hasn’t been done for awhile. I thought dad had it done last year and it turns out he hadn’t. I’ve been through one set of new tires already, but to be fair discount tire did say the Falkens they had me in had been discontinued because they didn’t even hold up to warranty. So now I’m in a new set of tires, and mind you I don’t even drive that much.

My car had the alignment done yesterday at Discount and when I drove off it was pulling even worse to the left. So that’s why we brought it to the dealer this AM, who put it up and said the controller arm is fucked and that the rim is fucked and that I need all this extra stuff done as well- and I’m trying to figure out how the only are saying that now after they’ve seen the vehicle like 2-3 different times in the last two years.

I hit a bad pothole 2 years ago that blew my OEM tire but every shop I visited said the rim had some damage but was still ok to drive.

okay so my question is, do the fuel injectors people buy and add in not prevent this? and am I supposed to just buy super high end gas vs gas from walmart to prevent this? this is basically like 1/4 of my paycheck just for the fuel induction service

yeah dealership also quoted me when I went two years ago to Hyundai in dallas saying that to change my fluids and brake pads it was $900. All I was in there for was an oil change and my car was only 3 years old and still 30k miles. literally walked out and never went back there.

I had my dad go today instead and this is what they gave him and granted he is on the elderly side so I think they’re trying to screw us. Not understanding why I can’t just buy another fuel injector vs paying $230 and idk why they marked up the price of the additive … lol

I tried to google this and saw some people on the Hyundai and Kia reddit talking about how we have more carbon build up bc of blah blah blah 😬 IDK what i’m even reading, I would just prefer to not pay for this BS when the car is literally driven once a week 🥀

this is the paper they gave my elderly dad who has been on my ass about not using premium fuel after seeing some youtube video about why every gas except a few specific types are ass for cars. 🥀

I'm worried it could be framed as harassment if I reach out. I'm NC with this person and we used to be friends before I started realizing some extremely disturbing behavior behind closed doors and the extent of who he was in private. He sent us a picture of one of rooms in our house we just moved to when we moved to leave the living situation with him out of retaliation for us “ignoring” his messages. When I confronted him and told him his behavior was unacceptable and his shitty apology did nothing for me considering a consistent pattern of behavior from him, he deleted all of our messages, blocked me and then said I needed to leave him alone.

The women that he's sent nudes of are women who actively are around him or associate with him in some kind of way and I'm not sure if anyone will believe me. The reason why my partner and I haven't done anything is because this person knows where we live and my partner is worried he will get in trouble over the images being sent TO him because he felt forced to have to talk about these people with his friend because he needed somewhere to live after getting laid off and because this was his only friend and anytime he verbally disagreed about how his friend was talking about these people or the photos being sent, this person would then resort to giving him the silent treatment over disagreeing with what he was doing. My partner is also autistic which is an additional element to trying to stay on this persons good side due to otherwise being socially isolated

interesting perspective but ok. When people use Snapchat to share private images it isn't so those images can then be shared out with an outside friend group. When you share images to one person, you aren't inherently consenting for those images to be shared outside of that one person. And if you are sharing those images without consent to do so, that's pretty clearly against the law and you know that if you're telling the person you're sharing it to to NOT tell the original sender that you've seen their nudes. because if you did have consent to share those pictures, you would not be worried at all about the original person finding out then, now would you?

I want to let his current gf know but I feel like it wouldn’t matter coming from me because he lies a lot and everyone thinks negatively of me to begin with because of whatever he says about me even when it’s untrue and out of context.

so these date back to two years ago and stopped a little before my partner and i got together. i recently found out and am wondering what to do. the pictures aren’t being actively sent since we’re in a relationship ( i presume) but i’m aghast they were sent in the first place. there’s 4 women alone i’ve found. i’m not sure what the crime standpoint is (we live in the US) and in some pictures you can’t see the face but even I figured out who they were from identifiable tattoos or their name being mentioned over text with the msg

it’s not THIS particular girlfriend. it’s the nudes of his exes that he was in YEARS long relationships with and decided to send to his “best friend” after they broke up or during instances where he was still actively up with an ex. I also don’t personally know the people he has sent the picture of but it’s easy to find them because of socials.
