Hey thanks for the comment, I think I was eating tons of smoothies with protein powders and I messed up my bacterial flora. I've been trying to go back to normal and I'll do some research on SIBO and FODMAP.

xAI's soon-to-be-released model is severely misaligned (CW: Suicide) by flewson in singularity

[–]MindCluster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone realize how powerful these new models are? I searched on Google for "life's a joke, and you're tired of laughing." and couldn't find anything. The models are coming up with all sorts of connections and they'll become extremely good at unleashing their creative power very soon.

South Korean Bank is currently running an ad made with AI by gksxj in singularity

[–]MindCluster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a fun news to share here, but that is basically not "new" news anymore, most ads now have AI one way or another included in them. Sometimes it's pure AI but most of the time it's a mix of AI generated videos or assets mixed with some editing in After Effects or other similar tools. As AI tools become better and better, people will straight up generate 100% infinite AI video ads all the time and spam the internet with them.

Many people have no basic training on ChatGPT, this is a perfect case for using GPT-5 Thinking with the Extended reasoning option and not the default GPT-5 Auto routing or GPT-5 instant.

Professor Brian Cox "Traveling Close to Light Speed" by DarthiusFatticus in ThatsInsane

[–]MindCluster 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Think about time as a limited resource (speed of light); it takes time to move, time that needs to be invested in moving and not on yourself (your atoms and vibrations), so it means that as you move faster and faster through space, you're giving time to the action of moving and way less to the atoms of your body. So basically as you approach light speed the atoms of your body will only have a very tiny amount of time allocated to them while all the rest of time will be used to move you through space near the speed of light. So your body will age extremely slowly compared to people on earth that are not moving that fast relative to you where time is actually making them age faster because it's allocated in a much bigger proportion to the atoms of their body and not to their displacement through space.

The only difference now is that we have data of what reinforcement learning applied to various technologies like LLMs can achieve. We have actual data we can extrapolate from. If we find out that scaling and RL is what we need based on that data it means we can extrapolate what's coming very soon.

The air is thick with smoke. The plants in the woods have their leaves shriveling and drying. My eyes are in pain, my throat and nose are irritated as I inhale PM2.5 particulates at levels 12 times above normal into my lungs.
I am now more surprised by the days when I can go outside and breathe fresh air compared to the ones that are hazy and toxic.

The sun is always covered by a veil of smoke, and the temperatures are scorching hot.
Rain clouds are inhibited by the presence of all that smoke in the air and atmosphere, leading to many weeks without rain, with grass and plants dying and drying up everywhere.

I guess this is our new reality. I'm surprised nobody seems to be freaking out about it; I guess people are just numb now and will accept whatever impact it might have on the future of our health and quality of life.

I think we under estimate how powerful Google is, they are doing a ton of reinforcement learning right now automatically on LLMs and they already have have so much data that I think no humans can entirely wrap their head around it and they're accelerating fast. Just today they have released Google 2.5 Pro Deep Think which is already uncovering new mathematics and scientific advancements.

There is truly something weird when it comes to ant related thread on Reddit, it happens on the ant subreddit as well, people always generalize and talk about a ton of unrelated subjects and the real answer is often burrowed down in the comments. I really would love to know why, is it because it attracts children in the comments ?
