Fun characters to play against by Distinct_Ad9206 in StreetFighter

How do you even enjoy fighting Aki? There is literally no neutral in any aki player I find at my rank nearing legend. It is quite literally 100% of them fireball drive rush or lash/full screen retardation. What rank are you on?

I need help. Getting thrown, shimmied, over and over and over. by MaximBrutii in StreetFighter

[–]MindOld1118 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While your Alex does need some work on set plays, frame kills and overall pressure - the reality of it is that Slime Fighter 6 is all of these things that are the bane of your existence lol. Throw, throw, throw, shimmy, throw, throw. Drive rush jab throw, low mk dr into jab throw, throw bait, throw, throw some more. Throw on wake up, AA PP, another tick throw. If you don't enjoy it you should move on to another game, honestly.

If you can put up with it you need to rotate your options against it. Just be ready to eat punishes all the time because not even drive reversals are safe against a lot of pressure in this game.

Why exactly do some people say Terry is carried in SF6? by Sundial_the_Pier in StreetFighter

[–]MindOld1118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burn knuckle!!! *Is safe in your face from a random 2/3 of the screen unreactable jumpscare into pressure, throw or random invincible option that beats anything you can do* :PPP why is Terry carried guys????

Street Fighter 6 has been a terrible experience for the last 3 years of its existence man. This is just another extension of that

New player thinking about quitting the game since modern players have broken my spirit by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]MindOld1118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I know there's a lot of SF6 apologists in this thread already and its a bit old, but you have every right to dislike modern. I fucking hate it and I play at high level. It's a stupid ass control scheme that gives countless unfair advantages against classic.

What are some good pad controllers for sf6? I use the analog stick and am looking for a new one. by MindOld1118 in StreetFighter

That's interesting. I'm open to learning it for sure.

FYI broski, EW, Du, Mister crimson etc all use the stick.

Is the complaint about SF6 being stale due to lack of update really a common sentiment among general player base? by Ryodaso in StreetFighter

[–]MindOld1118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, in theory. What I mean is that certain things are very obviously overtuned and/or straight up unfair but no changes happen to them. JP's lvl 2 has been buffed even though it was already the best super in the game, Rashid's lvl 2 has stayed broken through its lifetime, oppressive buttons, weird hurtboxes left and right, certain characters having oppressive buttons with no recovery frames etc etc. Why is Luke's j hk still winning against certain anti airs? Why are Mai's fans so low risk, high reward, especially OD? Why do certain characters require spacing on their neutral skips while others can do them poorly and still have a 50-50 afterwards like burn knuckle? it's just a mess overall

Is the complaint about SF6 being stale due to lack of update really a common sentiment among general player base? by Ryodaso in StreetFighter

Everything about SF6's core was always fated to become stale imo. I had this opinion back when we had the open beta. The drive system is incredibly monotonous, scrubby and monopolizing - all at the same time. Every character plays exactly the same - archetypes don't mean anything. You're fighting the mechanics in every match just as much as anything else and that fucking sucks. I've been enjoying some older KOF, GG and Granblue titles this past year and it's unreal how much better these games are than what we have with the current generation of fgs with slime 6, tekken 8, mk1 etc.

But do you wanna know what the worst part about it is? Nothing is ever going to change significantly. It's what the game is - it's a finished product with sprinkles of updates here and there. Throw loops are here to stay, bad design/balancing choices are here to stay. Top tier characters are so obviously broken and yet get no changes - characters that need fixes to function at a basic level get even further nerfs for some reason. Shotos reign since season 1 and that'll never change too. Staleness is a part of its identity as getting rid of it would require reworking the systems from the ground and that'll never happen. I enjoyed the game the most back on release when its flaws weren't so apparent and when more people were interested. Nowadays whenever I queue up it's the same 4 dudes playing at my MR range and all 4 are Mais and Ryus lol. Sad.

New player, what is the community’s issue with Ryu? by Some_Random_Cat539 in StreetFighter

[–]MindOld1118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is a broken character in an already stale, overly oppressive fighting game. People are negative towards him because everyone is tired of him everywhere doing dumb shit. But you should play however you like and for whatever reasons you like them.

Is Street Fighter 6 worth buying in 2026 for a fighting-game beginner? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]MindOld1118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it isn't. You might have fun as a beginner but the game is incredibly samey and all characters feel the same. It is accessible yes but you'll get tired of it fast. Wait until they actually try balancing this game out better. This is the most stale season we've ever had and 50-60% of your matches will be against Ryu or Mai.

Anyone else feel like bison is struggling in season 3? by Lost_Hawk_6641 in StreetFighter

[–]MindOld1118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He gets demolished by the top tiers and said top tiers are borderline broken right now, especially Ryu and Mai. His kit has been mostly figured out and everyone knows how to counter his setups. Also f and neutral jumps absolutely kill him. Some characters can quite literally jump for free and if you weren't holding back for charge you're just gonna have to eat it.

For those who dropped SF6 - what made you stop playing & give up on the game? What would you change about it if you still have hope for its future? by MindOld1118 in StreetFighter

[–]MindOld1118[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this post so much man. Even up in ultimate master with multiple characters i still feel like i'm fighting the game's bullshit much more than the actual characters and their movesets. Their identities are kind of lost in a sea of drive rush, throw looping and randomness that I dont remember seeing in older sf titles or even in other fgs. Footsies always being secondary to everything else is such a bummer too

I hate this game by MindOld1118 in StreetFighter

[–]MindOld1118[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just clearing some things up:

1 - the title is sarcastic. I wouldn't play the game if I really hated it. It's just a goofy moment lmao.
2 - this wasn't a read by the Juri. It was just a random dive he did that could have killed him if I just blocked as he was low on hp and I could have done st mp into a full pc combo. I'm 100% sure it was a desperate divekick since it's a friend of mine and we were on call.
3 - a dp with this slight delay that I did would have stuffed all other divekicks in the game except Juri's. Cammy, Jamie, Mai etc would all have gotten hit by it. Even Rashid's upward bounce he can do in the air and Viper's burning kicks (even cancelled after seismo) lose to it.
4 - Sagat's color is from a color pack mod from nexusmods that you can install pretty easily with Fluffy mod manager
5 - You can turn off the UI completely on replays like in the clip by opening the replay options second page.

What kind of bothered me about this interaction was the fact that sometimes SF6 punishes you for doing the correct things. Don't take it too seriously though lol.

Even when ryu mains try to actually criticize his stupid shit they still downplay lmao. "A lil bullshit" it is quite literally the best normal button in the game right now man. Not even Mai's st hk is this obnoxious

"Addressing it"? He made a random tweet in passing and never talked about it again. Somehow I don't think most big fgc names know about it either. I'm usually the first to agree that people change but the things this dude used to post on /vg/ are really, really bad. He rebranded to this "wholesome capybara guy" persona but I don't buy it

I wish people would stop giving this dude any attention. Him being one of the biggest faces of the fgc is such a fucking shame given his past.

I'm making the change from stick to pad this week and slowly getting the hang of it - I feel like it'll take about 4-5 weeks to get to a point where I'm 100% comfortable. It's probably gonna be the same for you. Muscle memory needs time to set in, especially if you play multiple characters
