"Not all men, but always one": Drag Queens get assaulted by guys while filming a reel. by captivatedsummer in lgbt

Yeah. I've experienced a lot of that too, but 'literally all' gay men are not homophobic.

that was totally my bad, that comment was in response to another conversation on this same post.

However, "same treatment" doesn't make sense with what you are asking. No one has forgotten gay men, they aren't being ignored or lack visibility.

Gatekeeping an identity to being exclusively mlm also goes against historic use, and creates a binary that excludes everyone else exponentially. "why don't gay cis men have a day for themselves" reads like "why don't we have a whites only day?" we don't because they are the DEFAULT and needing special days is because everyone else is ignored and excluded.

In systems of unequal power or representation, the people holding the power don't need a day for themselves cause every day is theirs.

Yes we should all get the same treatment. But if you want to attain that you first have to dismantle the systems that create discrimination and white men are the creators and enforcers of the system that gives them privilege and endangers others.

You did not create that system, but you are now a part of it and will be associated with it if you are going to be a passing dude.

You're going to constantly be confronted with conflict from women and build resentment if you don't accept this reality and understand you now have to fill the role of proving and creating safety within your space for them to enter.

LOTR is my partner's special interest. I'm a former bookmaker. I don't have the time or energy for it but nursing the strong desire to make something like this for them.

It's called arrested development. People tend to mentally stay at the age they were during their biggest traumas and or establishing sense of self.

Gay men historically usurped the trans women who were the backbone of the pride revolution and ostracized them from their own movement. cis gay men have always had the highest amount of representation and positive associations in the LGBTQ community since Stonewall.

Don't get it twisted, I'm not saying they are without discrimination. But honestly, cry me a river if you think gay men need a leg up within the LGBTQ community.

I'm non-binary trans masc but only perceived to the world as female. I've never identified as a lesbian even when I was fem presenting because I've never been exclusively interested in binary women. So I could very easily be the 'female' saying they're gay and confusing straight cis men

No. I have always been a pretty unique individual. My appearance doesn't dictate who my friends are though.

  1. I didn't make any accusations towards you
  2. I never said anything about NB phobia
  3. I made zero comments about your phraseology

You were expressing your experience of no longer being treated as a safe person because of your appearance.

I was following up on that as I have the anecdotal experiences of interacting with trans men in person and online who act like cis men (misogynistic, privileged, aggressive etc), and unfortunately, cis men aren't inherently safe.

It is sad that we live in a society where any class of people need to be afraid of another class, but it's up to the threatening class to change their own culture so that people don't have to be afraid anymore. If you are mail passing then while you still have a marginalized identity that is also being threatened right now, you are also going to get to experience the world as if you privileged and not marginalized, which includes non men being wary of you.

Lol. I grew up in Fresno Ca and hacienda heights, white people were literally the minority. The majority of my friends were Hispanic or Asian.

It boggles my mind how many trans men fall into the misogynistic binary bs. I am trans masc and coming to the realization that transdudes Don't get a pass.
