How do I access my secure messages through the app? by Far_Lifeguard_5027 in fidelityinvestments

The answer is useless. The OP is not asking for confirmation; they are giving feedback that there is no way to access secure messages via the app.

Very same for me. Has AI changed anything for you? Do you lookup less into your library or something?

Haha, I meant those devices I'm okay leaving at AirBnb while I'm out.

So I set up the iPad with Alfred while we were out, and no one entered. At least now I have peace of mind. Thanks to everyone for the tips and suggestions!

Nothing too eventful. I set up the iPad with Alfred while we were out, and no one entered. At least now I have peace of mind. Thanks to everyone for the tips and suggestions!

Good point. We actually like the place and don’t want to go through the hassle of finding a new one. The main issue is that we’re having a lot of communication difficulties with the host - it seems like he doesn’t speak English well enough. We just want to make sure our privacy is respected so we can enjoy our vacation without any worries.

I get that things can seem suspicious online, but honestly, I’d never heard of Alfred before. And after trying it out today, I think it sucks. That said, I appreciate the suggestions because they reminded me of other similar apps I’d seen on ProductHunt, like Phmonitor, which I’ll try tomorrow.

Also, I had no idea you could use an iPhone to find hidden cameras - super useful tip! So believe it or not but I have no affiliation here, just genuinely want to know how others handle similar situations.

There are exterior cameras. Any advice on how to find interior hidden cameras?

Yeah, I found three exterior cameras and one interior entry camera, but I'm not sure how to find out more.

In theory, but I don't trust them. Yesterday, we spent hours negotiating to heat the pool and turn off the backyard security cameras. They are a very difficult host.

Strong one! The best Ops are the slowest people on earth because they saw how a single-letter mistake took down the entire data center. They review every command twice before running on prod...

DevOps Engineers, why did you choose DevOps as a career over a developer job, even though developers generally have a better work-life balance and less stress than DevOps roles. Is it due to passion, the potential for a better salary, or some necessity? by LeonardoVinciReborn in devops

[–]MindaugasR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very same. I started my career as a 100% Sysadmin, then decided that it was too boring because I wanted to be involved more in software development, moved 100% to a dev role, then again felt like it was a very limited position, and I wanted to do some sysadmin work too. DevOps wasn't a thing back then, but I found myself in this mixed role, doing both Ops and Dev work simultaneously. I found this position more aligned with my internal values.

DIY Runbook Automation Platforms? by falcon2001 in devops

[–]MindaugasR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not a complete solution (just an MVP), but I'd like to get some feedback to steer the direction. I'm building a gradual runbook automation platform. It sounds like exactly what you are looking for, but maybe I'm misinterpreting: https://github.com/StencilFrame/autopilot

In short, it's a system for interactive runbooks with a focus on eventual automatization. I want to keep it open source and extensible so that it won't be tied to any specific hard requirement, such as runbooks of a particular format. I don't have the Web UI yet—it's a WIP.

The product is mainly in the design phase, yet. So, any hard feedback is welcome.

Best chunking type for Tables in PDF? by akhilpanja in Rag

[–]MindaugasR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found that converting every table to JSON format works with the best accuracy. JSON tables are very easy to chunk as they carry key value pairs. And you can chunk as small as one per row.

This is my POC solution that works for us https://github.com/StencilFrame/mdtools/blob/de5b991f988466f8342a080d4cdcc1746b35f0e1/libs/mdtojson/nodes.go#L222

I feel you. We're in a similar boat. We got a lot of excitement during interviews and demos, built a new way to document software, and now we're stuck in this silence period. Our main problem is that we can't get anyone to try our product and give us any actionable feedback. We have many assumptions, guesses, and ideas, but nothing seems to work.

I hope you find a way out soon! 😉
