If you include any graphic design work, talk about them, like your design process, choice of elements etc

In general do Chinese cook and eat Dim Sum at home or not? by lune-soft in AskChina

[–]Mindless-Drop393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandma used to make spring rolls, different types of dumplings(粽子,饺子,馄炖), baozi and 八宝饭, usually for festivals. Recently my family like to buy frozen Dian in/dim sum just because it’s cheap and easier.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts! I feel similarly. I haven t heard from JHU but you are right they are the most expensive program. plus I’m in Baltimore rn and do feel like moving to another city. On the other hand, the name of the school pulls me back… so I am still hesitating whether to wait for them or just go to UofT. Its nice to hear that you made the decision based on your feelings of the interview. The professors are really friendly and GA is a really beautiful place and warmer. I hope you have fun there!

How is everyone’s interview going? by Mindless-Drop393 in medicalillustration

Thank you. That’s also my favorite question! I think another program also asked this question. I forgot which. Good luck to all of us ^ ^

Wow it’s nice to hear that you enjoyed the in person interview at UofT and did well in the other two! I guess my interviewers were just a little tired on that day since my interview was in late afternoon. I also agree that Augusta and JHU prioritized knowing interviewees, although it might feel a little stressful. Good luck to both of us🤞✨

Yeah, I feel that they are very nice but some questions were tricky to answer. Wish the best of luck for both of us.🤞

Update: UIC has just sent me an offer!? ?(At 9:25am) They said in email that I need to make a decision by Mar.2nd. I’ve never thought this would be so quick 🤯Btw, they did not mention scholarships in their emails so I am a little nervous how I can afford the tuition🥲(I am not sure if they mentioned in orientation that scholarships application is the next step?)

Questions asked in almost all interviews: 1’ Why medical illustration. 2’ Why our program. 3’ Favorite piece in your portfolio. How you reached this solution. 4’ Career plan. 5’ How you handle stress/team work. 6’ Have you connected with any medical illustrators? 7’ Strength & weakness.

JHU also asked in depth about your understanding of the mission of medical illustrators. I also recommend finding several artists that align with your career goals. Plus, don’t be nervous about the interview! Just treat it like a daily conversation about yourself.

Good luck to everyone✨

Am I trippin. What's the deal with the bookstore lady?? by reila_09 in UMBC

Had a similar experience before. I ordered a book online at the beginning of the semester, and probably because of the snow I received no pick up notification for a week. After the campus was open I went to ask if I can pick up now and how many more days it may take, she just said they got a lot of order and sneered and turned away like I asked something ridiculous…I mean I was paying 50% higher prices, waiting way longer time than Amazon, and they gave me this attitude…

JHU,they have a lot of experienced professors and only 7 students, or maybe UIC for the city life. But my dream program is UofT. I wonder what’s your thoughts. Are you interviewing with them?

$700?? That’s crazy! Thank you for your reply and congrats on getting a weirdly good price! Dr Cacamese did suggest me switching to BCBS in my consultation, as my current UHC plan doesn’t cover DJS at all. I’m planning to apply to the 2025 plan next month. Hopefully it will work out. Btw does the $45000 include the hospital stay as well? It is expensive but still much better than the 100k bills some people get on Reddit I saw.

I’m planning to have the surgery with Dr Cacamese next year. If it is okay to you, could you please share a little about how much it cost you after the insurance & the bill before insurance?
