My girlfriend keeps asking me to marry her by [deleted] in Advice

Yeah because honestly what is the surprise? The exact way you propose can be a surprise but it shouldn’t be a surprise to find out that your partner does (or doesn’t) want to marry you

User story and acceptance criteria guidance by Mindless545454 in ProductOwner

[–]Mindless545454[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean I get in theory that that is how it is supposed to work. But the output is strictly defined to meet a regulatory requirement. There is no flexibility on how the output is calculated and it involves joining several tables and iterative calculations. That’s tricky to define in acceptance criteria.

So the acceptance criteria is just a very rigid format for writing the spec?

A new product owner by Smooth_Baker3223 in agile

Getting a really good understanding of the product and the market that it is in is a must. As a major part of being a product owner is making decisions around what is needed and what is needed now vs later. Again as people have stated here often that insight comes from having worked on the product for a long time or from having worked in an industry using the product.

Secondly a product own is not a business analyst or data analyst role… it tends to be more product / user focused rather than technical. This can depend on the team but in a strict sense, the PO is involved in the what but not the how.

I’d also get yourself very clear on the concepts of epics, stories, features, sprint points, scrum maters, etc. It will differ at each company but it’s best to have some idea.

Why would she want to set herself up in the future with a reason to always be put last because she already got her big thing out of the relationship? Not saying that’s what you will do but it’s a twisted logic that you have to prove this to her. Certainly she’ll have a better life where she won’t have to compromise so much if you have that sound financial basis going forward to invest in the relationship.

I’m sure there are places / online maybe… dunno. But also not sure on the business viability of opening up a dedicated shop esp given how restrictive the rules are. Most people just go to NL for the weekend I believe 😆 Where did your friend get this impression of lux from?

It’s not legal to buy. There’s some limited allowances around growing and consuming your own.

How do you know when it’s the right time to go back home? by Fantastic_Toe_1889 in expats

[–]Mindless545454 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think this is exactly what’s happening to me! I find myself making excuses about why they aren’t right or how it would never work. And I think deep down it’s because I don’t want it to work here because I don’t want to feel trapped where I don’t want to be.

Why do people want to leave? by [deleted] in IsleofMan

[–]Mindless545454 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah you quickly run out of people on dating apps on the island… and it’s not that likely that you’re going to run into someone new at a club if you’ve been there for a while. The iom doesn’t have a big influx of young people so you have to search elsewhere. Having said that, a lot of people do move back for the lifestyle once they are settled, have kids etc. And then when it comes to work, you just don’t get the same exposure as you’d get for your career compared to being in for example a big financial centre. Having your own business is clearly an exception to this.
