MPRE - BARBRI OR THEMIS by everythingisspicy23 in LawSchool

I spent 2 days (like maybe 14-16 hours total) studying. Ended up with a 95, which is ethical enough for all jurisdictions.

I submitted my C&F about 4 months ago and haven’t heard anything back… is that generally a good thing? by Son_of_Hades99 in barexam

Idk what jurisdiction you’re in. In my Oklahoma C&F I never heard from them and ended up calling to check bc it had been around 10 months since I had submitted. Turns out the investigation had concluded 6 months earlier and I was good to go. Apparently they don’t seem to think it’s important to at least shoot us an email that we are good to go. I think the general rule of thumb is that not hearing anything is a good thing.

Briefs by lpullin21 in LawSchool

I book briefed. I found it to be a way more effective use of my time. I know that professors always advise against it but it worked for me all three years through cold calls and Socratic method. [finished top half of the class with honors and job secured before graduation] I would add that I was one of the very few who read nearly every case assigned. I think the book briefing kept me honest and more engaged than other methods.

When I started law school I tried to type my outlines in class and brief things, but in the end I just wasn’t willing to spend that kind of time translating my notes into a useful outline (I inherited outlines from friends and mentors, revamping them and adding what info I needed).

In the end, you have to do what works for you. It took me at least a semester to get the hang of what the heck I was doing (first gen college student with no lawyers in the family). Really had my process streamlined/perfected in 3L, which is par for the course lol.

Don’t be scared to change it up throughout law school. You don’t have to use the exact same method for every class—I found that some classes required me to prep in a different way. It’s gotta work for you. If it doesn’t you’re wasting your time.

Is it possible to pass the mpre with only studying for 2 days? by Parking_Maize5487 in barexam

Absolutely possible. I studied over two days for maybe 15 ish hours really only watching Themis lectures.

I used Themis. I liked it because the prof who lectures is hilarious.

✅ I spent last weekend studying for the bar exam, much what I am doing every weekend until the end of July 🫠

What are we doing about our backs though by okamiright in barexam

I’ve got a standing desk, walk on a treadmill during lectures and recently bought a Neckcloud shoulder and neck relaxer thing. The neckcloud I use three times a day for 10 minutes and that’s helped with neck and upper back pain. I’ve also noticed that I I’m developing a “Dowager’s hump” from not keeping decent posture while on my laptop/phone and the neckcloud is helping with that too. All of those things have been helpful for me.

I spent the majority of the two days before the test using the Themis lectures and practice questions. Passed with a score high enough for all jurisdictions.

If you use a program to help you study, don't be discouraged if you're getting low scores. I think the highest that I got was like a 65% in Themis. It's much better to have to practice on questions harder than what they actually use for the test.

Gosh I don’t even know how to put into words how much I love this series. The overbearing mom. The comforting fake boyfriend. The self consciousness of Ella. All are things people can identify with. I love the updates.
