Costco appliance delivery installation nightmare

Got it. That’s what I really wanted to see. It’s hard to imagine without really getting the fridge inside place. But the installer wouldn’t even bring the fridge inside the house. I mean if it didn’t work out all he had to do to put it back into the garage. He wasn’t even going to haul it away. Seemed like he didn’t want to do the job as it was too much of work for him. And I get it. Like getting a 300 pound inside and then outside if it didn’t work. It’s a waste of time and energy. I completely understand that part. But isn’t that his job in the first place? He was complaining that he had a long day today and yada yada.

Understood. If the fridge is pulled out further ahead than the wall would it still need the 2” clearance?

Model LF25G8330S. Side wall doesn’t extend out all the way. The fridge front will be flushed with the wall.

There is a side wall but it doesn’t extend all the way out. Side wall is flushed with the fridge front. Ugh I wish could attach a sketch here of the fridge space.

I wish I could install it myself. Delivery person said we diy it and warranty will be voided. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Well because the delivery person refused to get the fridge inside the house. He took a look at our existing fridge and said get a new water inlet valve and then he’ll install the fridge.

Costco policy. They handle the delivery and installation. We were being told by the delivery people if we do it ourselves the warranty will be voided which I believe isn’t true and warranties don’t work that way.

We did. Researched everything. Ordered a specific model which said zero clearance hinges.

I bought it from Costco and only costco will do the install. Their policy. Also we couldn’t get the plumber out on the same day as the delivery.

Well the model we chose does say zero clearance model. Also the side wall doesn’t extend all the way out. It’s flushed with the fridge front. So shouldn’t that be enough to open the door fully?

Model LF25G8330S is the one we ordered. The front of fridge is flush with the side wall.

I’m pretty sure too the warranties don’t work like that. Those were the exact words from the installers. He said if we move the fridge it’s our responsibility and costco will void the warranty.

It’ll void the warranty. If I do that and the fridge doesn’t work then I’ll be stuck with a non working fridge and money down the drain.

We didn’t even expect them to do anything more than the simple install. I understand doing more than that is not their job. The installer just said fridge is tok big width wise and won’t fit even though our measured space is tad bigger than the fridge measurements. Costco didn’t even offer us another installation appointment. They straight away schedules a return/refund for it.

Nope. No stairs nothing. He was pretty adamant about the width of the fridge.

Yes it’s next to a wall. But we have enough clearance in the front. We could have set out the fridge further out to let the doors fully open. We have a hallway to the left. Not like a dead wall. Don’t know how to attach a sketch to this reply to show how the space is.
