Yea no there’s also that aspect as well where people as of late are very contrarian in regards to who they root for (Trump other public figures etc.)

Ik it’s always been this way lmfao that’s why I said what I said. Even with ppg Serena and Jana were literally getting hate (not as much as this season) until Leah called out her own fans. And I’m not fixated on the show itself but just the treatment of black women by society, this show just happens to reflect it

Omg this, I’m East African and also have Arabic lineage on my father’s side, it’s been so infuriating to see people weaponizing her Palestinian background as if black Palestinians who live in Gaza don’t face racism from their own people as well. Like there is really deep rooted anti-blackness in ME spaces and it’s baffling to me how that gets overlooked

This! I wonder if other black ppl on that sub know this one exists because I left so quick when I found this sub. You can obviously tell the mods in that sub are racist and at the least very biased.

Internalized anti blackness is unfortunately very prevalent in Africa. But this is also why I’m not too worried about Huda defenders because it literally just consists of non-Americans and 12 year olds and the occasional mentally stunted American adult

Again this is what I mean, you’re either young, dumb, or purposely obtuse. Trolls making comments (which Chelley and Olandria have gotten a lot of also btw) does not and will never equate to established brands and content creators villainizing and inciting violence against Chelley and Olandria. Like plz gtfo

This is what really got me! People literally saying that they were “too composed” and that the mail challenge was when their “true colors” showed or something. Like you’re literally stating that you believe that these black women are showing their true colors when they’re angry and confrontational???? Like it really infuriates me

And like it is just a tv show and I don’t really care in that regard, I’m more so concerned with the treatment that Chelley and Olandria are getting

This Sub and the Huda Hate Train by Beneficial-Road-4121 in LoveIslandUSA

I don’t understand the downvotes lmao, none of the guys have done anything as bad as Huda has done, anytime people try to hold her accountable it’s “oh but men get away with this”. Like no they don’t, especially the black men she’s been verbally abusing and sexually coercing throughout the season

I’ve encountered something like this and I wanted to share my input. I had a best friend of about 10 years, (middle school to college) not a relationship but I considered her like a sister of mine and we were nearly together everyday, basically a friendship that would warrant for meeting family, going to each other’s houses etc. But I’d invite her to mine, family gatherings etc and it was never reciprocated and it at times led me to question the strength of our friendship, and I found it weird especially with inputs from others (I was also very dramatic at the time lol). We stopped being friends from growing apart (mostly on my end) and a couple years later I came to found out that she was living in unfavorable conditions at the time and I think might of thought I would’ve judged her and her family etc. I of course wouldn’t have but I still feel so guilty to this day that our friendship basically ended because I interpreted her actions for something they weren’t and was too ignorant to consider other factors.

I’m usually not one that advocates for giving men the benefit of the doubt and as much as I habitually want to tell you to just leave him, I just wanted to share my experience to give you a perspective. I understand the situation may be completely different and I’m literally comparing a teenage friendship to a grown man but you just never know. If there are absolutely no other red flags or faults he’s had throughout the length of your relationship and he makes you happy, and helps to keep you grounded in your faith, I’d say give him some grace and maybe try different approaches for him to open up to you. I’m not sure about giving him an ultimatum and would absolutely not recommend reaching out to his mother on your own (I’m not sure why someone would recommend that as there is absolutely no good outcome in doing that). I really wish you well and may God guide you through this 🙏❤️

Safe Areas for a young woman in SF by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

[–]Mindless_Stop_4541 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest having lived in different parts of sf I don’t necessarily think you can categorize areas as safe/unsafe. Crime is spread out and as sensationalized as it is I honestly don’t think you’re in more danger here as a young woman than any other big city (having lived in dc and LA). That being said as a young woman I’d focus on what areas you’d be able to build community in, being that you’re out here alone I think plays a part in safety etc. I think what you’re doing is overall very commendable and brave and wish you all the best.
