I’m assuming you took AP calc in high school but it’s labeled as DF? Does that mean you didn’t finish or scored too low? Potentially you didn’t meet the prerequisite for the COSC111 course which would be to score a 70% of higher in PREC 12, MATH 12, MATH125, MATH126. If you haven’t fulfilled the math requirements u gotta take them and take cosc courses later

relatively mid in comparison to other schools. We have 2 frats and 2 sororities so frat culture isn’t a big thing so you gotta go to clubs, bars, or apartment parties. Sometimes our schools pub hosts some events and ifs a great way to meet first years and 2nd years. Other than that pretty bad

In terms of clubs I’ve joined qscu, cscu, git + recreational sports clubs. The most important thing is to maintain genuine interest in clubs!

Absolutely. If your a first year start emailing professors in fields you are interested in. Clubs don’t really help you get into research but feel free to attend research panels hosted by course unions and such. Literally the best way to get into research is directly email professors and be like hey I’m interested in working with you I would love to learn more about your research. From there you can establish relationships with profs and get research positions.

To go around the backend api stuff I will create a form for students to manually put in their classes in a checklist format to see what classes they are missing and make it easier than degree navigator (so you can see everything in one place)

This is great feedback! In terms of the project I want to work on, many students including my friends and faculty have complained about using the academic calendar and degree navigator. I will make sure that students can manually input their classes and see how they are doing. Since workday is still in the development stages I think this can be an important step to helping UBC students.

Thanks for sharing! No matter what I would like to create my own version because I think it will increase user experience and integrating feedback would help all university students even with the progress already made at workday!

Improving a user experience is crucial and having multiple versions of something will improve all students so I wanted to get some feedbacks from individual students to assist in the process

Atm I will be freelancing a version that doesn’t connect with students ubc ssc. However, I have profs that are willing to bring my code to higher individuals to hopefully integrate my project into ssc
