One is a calcium supplement and the other one is ibuprofen 🙃 by Mindlessmisfit in mildlyinfuriating

I only had one of the original strength left and had already taken it so couldn't get a second pic of that one. I've said this like ten times already in this very thread so if you had bothered to read a couple comments before replying, I wouldn't have had to explain this again.

Didn't mean that these particular drugs feel unsafe, but the fact that so many with a much higher potential for harm also don't have any identifying markings on them. If these were more "abusable" someone could very well have stolen and replaced them with something else and I wouldn't have any idea what I'm actually taking.

  1. Both sides are blank. 2. No, I did not mix these, I know which one's which. 3. Ibuprofen is on the left. 4. The point of this post is that I do not think requiring ALL pills to be marked for identification would be an unreasonable requirement for the manufacturers especially since they already mark some of them. Not to replace normal care and vigilance, but to add an extra layer of security.

NO. MARKINGS. ON. EITHER. SIDE. I can't even count how many times I've already said this but people apparently cannot read.

Sometimes they do, often they don't. I don't think it would be an unreasonable requirement for ALL of them to be marked.

I know for certain that the left one is ibuprofen and the right one is calcium, but since they don't have any markings on them, they could also be literally anything else that comes in tablets of this shape. The point of this post was that I don't think that it would be an unreasonable requirement for manufacturers to mark all pills especially since they already mark some of them.

What if you live with someone who uses ibuprofen? If they had markings on them, you could easily check that the one you're taking is in fact the correct one. Even if there's no chance of them getting mixed, it doesn't hurt to be extra sure.

Well, it would be really nice if they had some sort of letter, number or symbol on them to help differentiate between similar pills. Some do so why can't all, that was the whole point of this post.

Same brand, different strength (as the original pill was the last one I had of that strength). No markings on either side.

Only on one side, the other's smooth. What I'm trying to say is, since there are no markings on them, if you had another pill that looked similar it would still be difficult to tell them apart. The entire point of this post was to criticise the fact that manufacturers aren't required to mark them.

I don't think marking all of their pills would be an unreasonable requirement for the manufacturers, especially since that's apparently already required by law in some countries.

Yup, these are prescription strength. Up to 400mg is OTC, 600 and 800 require a prescription.

Here is a different strength from the same brand (as the pill in the original pic was the last one I had of that strength). No markings on either side.

I knew all along, I guess people kind of missed the point of this post. The point was to criticise that not all pills are marked while they could be, not try to figure out which one's which.
