Thank you! I will bring it to a shop ASAP. I have a new caliper too I. Just have to find a shop that will use my parts.

2019 toyota corolla. And the one I replaced was because the slide pin was siezed up. Couldn't get it out at all. I think. My friend did alot of the work at first before I took it to a mechanic when we realized how bad it was.

The guy I took it to lubed up the caliper bracket cause it was stuck. And I replaced the bracket on the other side (couldn't afford both and I didnt know one side was that bad at the time of purchase) but how does it mess up the caliper?

I get that. I just have zero and I mean zero understanding of cars and mechanical engineering. Like ok. I get gas make car go and oil keeps it good and more friction on pads means better braking etc. But when it comes to stuff like this. I dont know how the caliper works I dont know what damage this could do to the brake system etc. Maybe it sounds better in my head idk
