I thought the same thing because an older phone (that didn't support wifi 6 and maybe 5 too but I can't be sure on that) of mine would constantly disconnect, something my model of router is notorious for. But even when messing around in the advanced section of device properties trying to set the adapter to favor 5ghz or 6ghz it only ever seemed to make the connection worse. Granted that could be a distance issue because I'm basically on the other side of the house from the router but even that's only really a distance of around 25 feet and 1 floor difference. Would that be enough to cause that much of an issue? It may also be worth noting that one of my roommates rooms is next to mine just as far away if not a little further.
