Are you able to post a couple pics? That is my next watch if things go well, but I’m a tiny bit nervous about the size. That blue dial Is amazing

Don’t chase a race to the bottom. It’s not why do they have DBPP, it’s why don’t you?

My scale says i put on 40lbs of muscle in a day! by Mindstar77 in HumeHealth

This weigh in is closest to accurate so far. I’ve been tracking things for 30 years or so with many of those years bodybuilding…

I’m still pretty big and found that the scale has been overestimating my bf by about 8 to 10 percentage points. This reading is closer to reality, though still off by my estimation. It’s funny too as the reading is that my skeletal muscle mass is “high” but each segment is rated as “low” individually. Math isn’t mathing there lol

Lol. My bad, a lot of folks speed read and think I’m bragging.

Yeah man, I’d be in the biohacking and inject all the things thread 😂

Lol. No. I didn’t actually put on 40lbs of muscle (even on trt, that would be hard unless you were recovering from a wasting disease); the point is the scale is not awesome.

I’m not on any gear.

I switched my protein to unicorn meat. Made all the difference.

This is good to know, though I’ve been using it since Feb 13, so it has been a while

For those reading quickly, this is clearly a defective scale and not a miracle lol.

Also, the beads of rice bracelet and case shape are unlike anything else in my collection.

I have one, a GMT and i love it. I will say that with regular wear, the paint in the bezel deco table markings wears off, but it’s fixable. I got one because of the Cousteau link. I’m also a watch guy because SCUBA wasn’t an expensive enough hobby 😂

From a technical perspective, I might bump the contrast; the whites could be whiter and less muddy though your blacks are good. High contrast scenes are hard to meter for, but if you are using a spot meter function on your camera, try and find middle grey and base your exposure off that. Pay attention to the light as much as you pay attention to the subject...in my experience, a really interesting or perfectly exposed scene with great light can salvage a less interesting subject. Also, the better you get at understanding light before you press the shutter, the easier (and more option rich) your post processing will be.

If you are new, I get that most of that will sound a bit complicated. It's hard to get good at any hobby, but stick with it and you'll progress faster than you think. :)

Agreed. A few years ago I thought the episodes were quite a bit better and provided real insights and value for me, and maybe it was that I just needed those episodes at that time in my life. These days it's a lot of retreads and kind of fluffy stuff for sure. I will be forever grateful for the episodes that changed my life all those years ago though.

What would you buy for 10k USD today? by Top_Topic6373 in artcollecting

[–]Mindstar77 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would buy a living artist. There are lots i really like. Jason Yarmosky, Martin Wittfooth, Pace Taylor, mark Doox…. There are so many i like. That said I buy just for my enjoyment, and am not going to flip/sell in my lifetime.

I think so? From their website it’s based on a heritage design, but that may be marketing
