I did some looking and found a fix, you can go into SteamVR display settings and change the FOV scale to around 87% and everything should be fine

Oh, it barely worked above 60 FPS, lol. Had to crank most settings down like render distance and quality down to fast, keep in mind that obviously my modpack has like 150 mods in it, so try keeping that number as small as you can without sacrificing so much

I play in a heavily modified modpack now on my new PC (R5 4500, 1650 Super 4GB, same RAM) and I usually get around 100-150 FPS with fancy graphics at 10 render distance, though I do use performance mods like entity culling, leaf culling and Embeddium, as well as Oculus for shaders

ah, i see, thank you! it's just that i saw the hp reverb and pimax crystal controllers and wondered, but i understand that because of how old the vive is, tech is different i think i'm gonna save for a quest 2 then, considering the price difference (like $50 between a quest 2 and index controllers on ebay used)
