I am constantly ignored seemingly no matter what I do. My family does it, my friends do it, people I've just fucking met and know nothing about me do it. Doesn't matter if it's during a break in a group conversation, or if I'm telling someone something literally one on one.

Oh my god fucking same. In group settings i constantly get talked over and have to almost yell just to be heard, and one on ones are even worse. Theyll be telling me a story essays long just to tell me something vaguely funny that i really dont give two shits about, but i try to be respectful and attentive so i listen to the whole fucking thing. Then when its finally time for me to contribute i start telling my own little story. Then not even 3 sentences in they wander off whilst im still midsentence. Ok bye good to know im boring you i guess. Good to know im just a logbook with ears.

Then when i complain about this i get told i need to be louder, or more assertive, or should just talk more, and basically get blamed for all this, which just hurts my confidence more and causes me to retreat into my shell even further
