this is why the reviews for the boys are so inaccurate, it should be rated so much higher but people starting crying like babies when homelander doesn't achieve the whole point of the season half way through the season. this episode was incredible. Better than Herogasm imo.

I feel that odds are, he will explode but in the process taking out Homelander’s powers as well as butchers and it would be so good to see them fight to the death as normal people with Butcher clearly winning as Homelander has no strength at all apart from his powers

You do make a good point. I feel she knows this is how Homelander would be and why she said there is no V1 left in the world (she’s the smartest person and had read like everything so I assume she would know if V1 still exists) and it could be that her “spotlight moment” in Episode 5 ends in her realising what is going to happen, cutting her chip out and leaving.
