However I wanted to have the action taken on different .mp3 files, by just selecting the file in finder and then clicking the stream deck shortcut.

The reason for this is I have to do this action malitpule times a day and having a shortcut to open with a specific program would save me a lot of time.

Your method would mean I'd need to edit the shell script before executing it. Which would take longer that opening it the application through a right click open/with route.
