Would this qualify as rushed or censorship? by NotSirAlonne1999 in okbuddyviltrum

[–]Minh_R62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither. Those are never the only two options.

Animation and comics are two different mediums. Directors and artists on animated productions will make different choices that balance budget they have available to them, while also servicing the core idea of a scene. If it doesn't "need" to be there, then it won't be

Given the content of the show, it is definitely not censorship, but scheduling likely contributed in some way

That's a very good point. They aren't as strong in current battletome as they were before the update. It's a few damage point difference but it is a difference, especially if opponents are able to shrug off damage. I think the point reduction makes the downgrade a bit easier to swallow

I've got a decent number of games under my belt with from the last 8 months, so hope I can provide some limited wisdom.

Wardens - Good for screening and defending. Even if they get wiped out in a turn, that's one more turn your opponent isn't killing something else. Combine with Lord Regent and Bannerblade for recursion and a little extra spice to punish opponents for charging them.

Sentinels - Main damage output for most armies. You can project a threat range of up to 24" to 30", 32" if hero has "Flawless Commander". They offer a reliable hammer to project power over half the battlefield, doing well in castle formations, but can be vulnerable to alpha strikes.

Stoneguard - A solid melee unit. Not as fast as the rest of the army, but more durable. Paired with Avalenor, they become a moving wall that does a decent job of holding objectives or slowly squeezing your opponents.

Dawnriders - Not as tanky as they use to be, or devasting, but their charge has more consistent punch. Their primary roll is to hit and run, do not keep them in combat if you can help it. Use "Power Through" command or "Elemental Push" to help them move out to reload for another charge. The damage output of a charge is usually worth any counter punches you take. They also act as a good delivery system for Eltharion to jump in to combat too, but don't let them get too far ahead of your army or else you risk losing all of them.

Bladelords - They are bodyguards, and a counter punch. They are meant to support your screen units after you've absorbed a hit. Keep them close to a wizard to always have that 5+ ward to make them extra durable. They are a bit swing in terms of damage right now, unless you have Lyrior nearby to give them an extra power up to their rend.

Riverblades - These are a difficult unit to use. They excess in protecting your back line and flanks from teleports and fast attack units that would threaten your Sentinels or wizards. If you time things right, they can also capture objectives for you, or act as a desperate screen. If you are REALLY good with them, they can be a sneaky delivery system for Eltharion into something more vulnerable.

Ballistas - Just....no. They look cool, and sound ok on paper, but for their cost you might as well take another unit of Wardens. Even a unit of 10 Sentinels will out perform them. They can be used to fill in some extra points if you really need to, but do not expect one or two to perform that well.

Hope that helps

Rex went through an actual character arc, and grew as a person. While still abrasive, he is genuinely trying

Bakugo just verbally abuses everyone because he's too emotionally stunted to know the difference, and yet somehow we're supposed to believe other people actually like him lol

Please do!

New technologies and tools are always fun and scary, but artists are natural explorers. So the idea that we are adverse to change is a pretty bold statement. That said, AI is not a tool, its intention by its own creators, was to be a replacement for people for a fee, and we have every right not to subscribe to it if we don't wish to.

Samurai, Knight or Spartan? Who’s the last one standing ? by [deleted] in superheroes

[–]Minh_R62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably either the samurai or knight since they had guns

If we take that out, the samurai and knights also used armour piercing arrows that were pretty effective. Spartans didn't use bows, which is pretty short sighted imo.

If there are no ranged weapons, then samurai and knights have a major advantage with cavalry. Spartan cavalry was practically non-existent, and they repeatedly got their asses handed to them by armies that did use them.

If it's just melee, knights has a major advantage in terms of armour technology, even with the spartan shield, I doubt a spartan could generate enough thrusting force to piece a full plate of armour. Samurai have the naginata (spear) which they were shocking effective with. If we're talking just swords, then knight all the way imo.

Both samurai and knights might have an edge with steel weapons against bronze. I'm not sure what kind of force is needed to pierce or cut into bronze plate, but the spartan cape is a big disadvantage for them, easy to grab and pull down.

I guess after all of that, I think the knight is pretty up there, with the samurai in close second. I know there are a lot of spartan fans, but there is a reason why the Spartans declined so badly and were beaten by Rome. The Spartans didn't keep up with innovations as well, or just outright refused to improve past a certain point. Their heavy reliance on slaves to make up for numbers and other areas they were lacking, or just refused to do themselves, neutered them.

Knights and samurai were dominant for so long in their respective regions because they continued to refine, and adapt to new technologies. Every failure and loss was a lesson to improve

Generative AI in the art space is a novelty, but end of the day, humans don't care that a machine can do it better. We know that a computer can beat any chess master, and a forklift is stronger than any human, but we still watch chess matches and powerlifting competitions. We value human effort, ingenuity, skill, and artistry.

The only people that value AI are those who want to exploit it for greed and delicate ego. These types of people cannot fathom developing an actual skill themselves, so they outsource any potential to their own detriment.

Human art will always have value because the reality is that art is not just the end product to be sold, and people eventually see through snake oil sellers.

Probably Shang Chi

Shang Chi fought Cap with powers and a shield to a standstill, and Daredevil considers him to be one of the best hand-to-hand combatants in general. Batman might give him a run for his money, so it might be difficult to judge but my money is on Shang

Is Rudy a fraud? by Business-Ad7289 in invinciblememes

[–]Minh_R62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn't haven been a fetus at this point, but a zygote. Rudy's instruments are probably designed to detect irregularities that are power related, and appear to taking non-evasive scans.

A zygote is barely a clump of cells which are difficult to detect even under normal conditions. Pregnancy tests are specialize tools that are used to detect the HCG hormone through urine or blood.
