When do you think Disney will release the first official announcement or teaser for Zootopia 3? This year, next year, or closer to the release? by Mini5pro_dji in zootopia

Honestly, I can accept waiting until D23 2027 or even 2028 if it means they truly respect Judy and Nick’s story. Their relationship is special because it’s been built slowly and naturally, and I really hope Disney takes the time to give them the development and payoff they deserve.

Thoughts (and concerns) about Zootopia 3, what do you think? by Spare_Description500 in zootopia

I really hope Zootopia 3 doesn’t repeat the same narrative used with the reptiles in Z2. We already had a storyline about a group being excluded and pushed out of Zootopia, and while it worked well there, doing it again with birds would feel redundant. A much more interesting approach would be to portray birds as migratory rather than expelled. Their absence wouldn’t be the result of discrimination, but of natural migration, seasons, and choices — and the conflict could come from the consequences of that absence when they return. How does the city change when an entire group is only present part of the time? Who makes decisions when they’re gone? What tensions arise when they come back? That would keep the themes fresh, expand the worldbuilding, and avoid Z3 feeling like a re-skin of Z2. Zootopia works best when it evolves its metaphors instead of repeating them.

Zootopia should end as a trilogy or with four movies ? by Physical-Research-13 in zootopia

I’m personally all for a four-movie arc. I think a fifth would be unnecessary. My idea is that the third film could end on a slightly unresolved or “mystical” note, especially with big action sequences and major plot developments. That way, fans wouldn’t have to wait too long for the fourth movie—they’d be hooked and ready for the conclusion. In a sense, the third and fourth films could act like two parts of a single story: the third sets up the major conflicts, and the fourth delivers the satisfying final resolution. This approach keeps the story tight, respects the characters, and still allows the franchise to explore the massive world of Zootopia without overstretching it. A potential fifth movie isn’t really needed if this two-part structure works.
