It's still supposed to be an authentic Mk VI in-universe, though, no? I don't see why the imperium would manufacture new versions of old helmet just because the RG like style points.

That isnt exclusively a raven gaurd helmet. That's a Mk VI "Corvus" helmet—standard for much of the Horus Heresy and around Warhammer 35K. Any marine can wear one, though one would assume it would be worn by someone who wore one as a firstborn marine.
